Khaosad English reported that a female Russian tourist was swept into the sea by a large wave at the famous Laad Koh sightseeing spot on Koh Samui Island, Bo Phut District, Surat Thani Province, Thailand, on November 29. The victim was identified as actress Kamilla Belyatskaya, 24 years old, of Russian nationality.

According to CCTV footage released by the police, Beliatskaya arrived at the parking lot of the scenic spot in a red car at 12:57 p.m. She was seen taking a pink yoga mat from the trunk of the car and going down to the rocky area below the scenic spot alone. While meditating, she was swept off the rock by a strong wave. The Bo Phut Police Station received a report at 1:30 p.m.
The last image of Beliatskaya is of her struggling in the water. The sea was rough at the time, with waves 2-3 meters high.
The rescue team arrived at the scene about 15 minutes after receiving the report. However, the female tourist had disappeared, leaving only her yoga mat floating on the water. The search had to be suspended after 30 minutes due to increasingly violent and dangerous waves.
The actress's body was later found drifting near a hotel on the same coast, about 1 km from the accident site.
Beliatskaya meditated on the cliff just before the accident.
Chaiyaporn Subprasert, director of the Samui Rescue Center, said the area was in the monsoon season and the unit had repeatedly warned tourists not to swim, especially in high-risk areas such as Chaweng and Lamai beaches. They had also put up red flags.
“Although the location of the incident was not a swimming area, but a sightseeing area, the victim could have been caught off guard by the sudden surge of large waves,” he said.

In response to the incident, Samui city authorities have closed the rocky area below the Laad Koh viewpoint.
According to Yahoo, the accident happened just days before Beliatskaya's planned wedding to her boyfriend of five years. She had posted pictures of the tourist spot on social media, captioning it as the most amazing thing she had ever seen.
When he learned of his girlfriend’s disappearance on social media, Beliatskaya’s fiancé shared: “I am praying for a miracle, that my fiancée is found alive. I am heartbroken and broken. We were going to get married in a few days.”
Kamilla Belyatskaya died at the age of 24.
Sadly, the miracle did not happen. On social networks, friends and fans expressed shock and sorrow at the sudden passing of Belyatskaya. They remembered her as a lively and cheerful actress.
