After the Ghibli-style photo trend, social media users are joining a new photo-making trend, still taking advantage of the Images in ChatGPT feature.
On Facebook groups like Ngính AI, Tâm sự con sen, or Bình dân học AI , many users show off their creative versions of elevator pitches. Through ChatGPT, users have created a beautifully packaged version of a Barbie-like toy, with a variety of occupations.
They can choose items related to their work and come up with catchy titles for their toy boxes like “Office Worker,” or “Restarter.”
In particular, the way to “follow the trend” is also very simple. Users only need to prepare a portrait of themselves, then replace the information of name, occupation, and items according to the available command that has been widely shared. If you know 3D design, you can also sketch in advance to give a more satisfactory result.
User Linh Trang (living in Ho Chi Minh City), after successfully creating her toy version, commented that this ChatGPT application is both fun and meaningful. “This is a more creative version of a self-introduction photo, which has emotional meaning for the creator,” Trang shared.
Dao Anh Tuan, manager of the Popular AI group, said that this application is quite similar to the trend of creating 3D avatars that caused a fever on Bitmoji, Zepeto, Facebook Avatar, and Memoji (Apple) applications in 2020.
Dr Katrina Fong at the University of York says that “who we are in real life greatly influences how we present ourselves online”. Therefore, the trend of creating 3D profiles for ourselves is quite popular because users can convey their personal style in the way they want.
However, the previous trend of 3D cartoon avatars emphasized simplicity, cuteness, and suitability for social networks. Meanwhile, 3D AI images now show stronger personalization, are more professional, and can be used in branding and personal PR.
“Previously, I used real photos or cartoon avatars to create my personal profile, but now 3D AI photos give me a more professional version, true to the style I want to express,” Ngoc Huy, a freelance designer, shared.
Previously, AI tools for creating personalized images like MidJourney or Stable Diffusion could produce high-quality results, but the command and optimization process was difficult to use and not accessible to a wide range of users.
OpenAI's widespread adoption of Images in ChatGPT will have an impact on the market in the future. The feature will challenge professional creators, forcing them to increase their value through deeper ideas and refinements rather than relying solely on technique.
Since its public launch on March 25, the Images in ChatGPT feature has received a lot of use from the online community. After 2 days, OpenAI had to limit free accounts to 3 times/day. However, on April 1, the company removed the above limit.
