In the early morning of April 13, Minamino contributed 1 goal in Monaco's 3-0 victory over Marseille in round 29 of Ligue 1. This goal helped him enter the top 3 Japanese players with the most goals in Ligue 1 history, with 15 goals.

He is on par with Keito Nakamura (Reims) and behind Daisuke Matsui (17 goals for Le Mans, Saint-Etienne, Grenoble Foot 38 and Dijon). Notably, Matsui announced his retirement in February 2024. This means Minamino could surpass his senior this year.

In Ligue 1 this season, Minamino has had a hand in 8 goals for Monaco (5 goals and 3 assists). In the list of Monaco's top scorers in the domestic league, the former Liverpool striker is only behind Mika Biereth (12 goals).

After joining the team in the summer of 2022 from Liverpool, Minamino faced nearly 3 months of goallessness, causing many to doubt his ability to integrate into Ligue 1. However, this season has seen the Japanese striker shine brightly.

Last month, Minamino extended his contract with Monaco until 2027. He said: "I want to stay here for as long as possible. The club has shown faith in me with the new contract. Monaco is a great club, always competing for European places every year. I like the city and the people here."

After 94 matches for Monaco, Minamino has scored 18 goals.

Japanese striker Daizen Maeda impressed at Celtic with a defensive sprint in the 86th minute as Celtic led St Johnstone 6-0 in the sixth round of the Scottish Premiership.
