Although they failed to qualify for the quarter-finals and missed the 2025 U17 World Cup, Vietnam U17 left many good impressions on fans. With 3 unbeaten matches against Japan, Australia and UAE, the young players showed a resilient fighting spirit, never giving up, and a positive, confident and ambitious playing style.
Before saying goodbye to his players at the airport, coach Cristiano Roland gave some heartfelt advice. The Brazilian coach emphasized that the U17 Vietnam team had a very meaningful tournament, not only in terms of expertise but also in demonstrating the competitive spirit and aspiration of Vietnamese football.
Coach Cristiano Roland reminded his players to keep that spirit, return to the club, continue to train hard and constantly improve themselves. “Greater opportunities are waiting ahead, and I believe many of them will go even further in the national team,” said coach Cristiano Roland.
On his personal page, the Brazilian captain wrote: "My heart is filled with pride. As a teacher of young players, I cannot express my feelings about the resilience, dedication and focus that they have shown throughout the journey. They fought tirelessly, with all their passion and determination, for the dream of bringing Vietnam to the U17 World Cup.
These young warriors are the future of Vietnamese football. I sincerely thank the Vietnamese people for their unconditional support. Your words of encouragement and affection are a great source of motivation for us."
