The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024). The exhibition aims to strengthen and expand international cooperation and defense diplomacy, build trust between Vietnam and countries around the world; share defense foreign policies and guidelines; advocate building the army and developing the defense industry; create conditions for countries, companies, and domestic and international enterprises to introduce and display products, and seek opportunities to expand cooperation.
Through the exhibition, international cooperation in the defense industry will be strengthened, and channels for cooperation in purchasing, receiving, and transferring technology to produce technical equipment and logistics equipment to meet the requirements of the armed forces; research the development trends of weapons and technical equipment in the world to propose, select, purchase, produce, and improve weapons and equipment for the army; promote and disseminate the capacity, technological potential, and weapons and equipment produced by the Vietnamese defense industry to international friends and the people in the country; and seek opportunities to export defense industry products.
Speaking at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam is a peace-loving country that values justice, love, and reason in international cooperation. Vietnam consistently implements a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, and diversification of relations, is a good friend and reliable partner with all countries, and is an active and responsible member of the international community. Vietnam proactively promotes the expansion of foreign relations and defense cooperation to enhance friendship and mutual understanding, demonstrate sincerity and build trust, jointly address common security and safety challenges, prevent conflicts, and prevent wars in accordance with the fundamental principles of international law; contributing to peace, prosperity, and common development cooperation in the region and around the world.
"Having experienced much pain, sacrifice and loss due to war, Vietnam understands and appreciates the value of friendship, for peace, cooperation and development. Vietnam firmly adheres to the "four no's" defense policy - "no participation in military alliances, no ally with one country to fight against another, no foreign military bases or use of territory to fight against another country, no use of force or threat of force in international relations", Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized.
According to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Vietnam advocates building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern army; building a strong enough defense potential to enhance the country's self-defense and protection capabilities early, from afar, and from the starting point. Vietnam has a strategic orientation to develop a proactive, self-reliant, self-reliant, dual-use, modern, and internationally integrated defense industry; prioritizing research, development, and application of advanced science and technology in the defense industry to optimize dual-use, both enhancing defense potential and developing the economy, serving the country's strategic interests and the practical lives of the people.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 with the participation of 66 international delegations and more than 240 defense industry enterprises from 49 countries also shows the prestige and brand in organizing defense exhibitions of Vietnam.
