This is the fourth consecutive session that the price of SJC gold bars sold by banks remains unchanged at 76.98 million VND/tael.

Although the price of gold is stagnant, people are still paying special attention to buying. At the gold bar selling points organized by banks, the number of people looking to buy gold bars is still quite large.

Today, Agribank opened two more gold selling points in Hanoi: Agribank Ha Tay Branch Headquarters, address No. 2, Vu Trong Khanh Street, Residential Group 5, Mo Lao Ward, Ha Dong District and Agribank Cau Giay Branch Headquarters, No. 99 Tran Dang Ninh, Dich Vong Ward, Cau Giay District.

Agribank will soon open four more gold bar sales points in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, bringing the total number of gold sales points of this bank to 10.

Currently, information is spreading on the market about the State Bank of Vietnam lacking gold to sell; at many gold selling points, there are people hiring people to queue up to buy gold with the goal of pushing up prices, taking advantage of the difference, causing instability in the market and causing damage to the economy.

Therefore, the State Bank has just sent an urgent dispatch requesting the Ministry of Public Security to direct relevant units to promptly coordinate in verifying and strictly handling acts of spreading false information, speculation, profiteering, and market manipulation.

The State Bank also requested the Ministry of Public Security to direct local police to coordinate to ensure security at gold selling locations of state-owned commercial banks and SJC Company; to limit the situation of subjects with bad intentions hiring people to queue up to buy gold, causing disorder.

Meanwhile, in the world market, gold prices increased again. As of 8:31 a.m. on June 11 (Vietnam time), the world spot gold price stood at around 2,308.6 USD/ounce, up 5.5 USD/ounce compared to last night. The price of gold futures for August 2024 on the Comex New York floor was at 2,323.3 USD/ounce.
