DOJI Hanoi listed at 69.6 million VND/tael (buy) and 70.6 million VND/tael (sell). DOJI Ho Chi Minh City bought SJC gold at 69.6 million VND/tael and sold at 70.3 million VND/tael.
The central exchange rate on October 17, 2023 announced by the State Bank is 24,093 VND/USD, an increase of 4 VND compared to yesterday. The USD price at commercial banks this morning (October 17) was traded around 24,280 VND/USD (buy) and 24,650 VND/USD (sell).
International gold price today October 17, 2023
At 9:04 a.m. today (October 17, Vietnam time), the world spot gold price stood at around 1,914.2 USD/ounce, down 4.8 USD/ounce compared to last night. The price of gold futures for December delivery on the Comex New York floor was at 1,927.6 USD/ounce.
On the morning of October 17 , world gold converted to USD bank price was over 56.88 million VND/tael, excluding tax and fees, about 13.39 million VND/tael lower than domestic gold price.
Gold prices on the world market today decreased. The spot gold price on Kitco at 9:00 p.m. on October 16 (Vietnam time) was at $1,919/ounce.
The global gold market fell amid rising US Treasury yields. Investors increased their purchases. However, analysts warned that the gold market still has potential risks.
Analysts say that from now until the end of the week, the gold market will be quite quiet, as little US macroeconomic data is released.
The market is waiting for information from US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell on October 19 when he speaks at the Economic Club of New York.
Everett Millman, market analyst at Gainesville Coins, said gold is being driven by a number of factors and noted that investors should keep an eye on gold's trading range late last month.
At the end of September, although gold prices were trading above $1,900/ounce, they could not overcome the resistance level at $1,950/ounce.
Gold Price Forecast
Darin Newsom, senior market analyst at Barchart, warned that in the near term, gold's long-term downtrend is not over.
However, Colin Cieszynski, market strategist at SIA Wealth Management, said the gold market still has a lot of upside potential. Geopolitical uncertainties continue to be factors driving gold's rise.
Everett Millman, market analyst at Gainesville Coins, expects gold prices to end the week in a range of $1,900 to $1,950 an ounce.
