(Dan Tri) - Russia announced that it shot down all ATACMS missiles that the US provided to Ukraine.

Russia said on January 4 that it had shot down eight ATACMS missiles supplied by the US. According to public data, the ATACMS missiles have a maximum range of 300km.
"The air defense system shot down eight US-made ATACMS missiles and 72 drones," the Russian military said, without providing details on the damage caused by the attack.
Russia said it deployed S-400 and Pantsir-SM shields to shoot down Ukrainian missiles.
The administration of outgoing US President Joe Biden has supplied long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine and allowed Kiev to use them to strike at Russian territory. Moscow has responded by deploying new hypersonic missiles, which it claims are unstoppable.
In addition, Russia said its army had captured the Nadiya settlement in Lugansk, eastern Ukraine.
The Russian military also attacked the infrastructure of Ukrainian military airports, an assembly plant and a depot for attack drones, as well as Ukrainian military personnel and equipment in 132 areas during the day, the statement said.
Russia claims that since the outbreak of hostilities, Ukraine has lost 651 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 39,279 drones, 590 air defense missile systems, 20,221 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,506 multiple launch rocket launchers, 20,186 field artillery pieces and mortars, and 29,857 special military vehicles.
On the other hand, Ukraine said that Russian forces continued to attack near the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk in an attempt to break through the area from the south and cut off Kiev's supply lines in the Donbass region.
If Russia captures the road and rail hub in the Donetsk region, this could create serious difficulties for the Ukrainian army on the eastern front, while allowing Russia to consolidate and advance further west.
"The Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest spot, where Russian troops have attacked 34 times (in the past 24 hours) and tried to break through our defenses south of Pokrovsk," said Viktor Trehubov, spokesman for Ukraine's Khortytsia group of forces.
The city, home to the only coking coal mine that supplies Ukraine's steel industry, had a pre-war population of about 60,000. Ukraine estimates that about 11,000 people remain in the city today.
Mr Trehubov said Russian forces were trying to block supply lines by sending small groups of soldiers to settlements south of Pokrovsk.
"They (the Russians) did not go straight into the city because that would mean fierce urban battles. Therefore, they tried to bypass the city first and cut off the logistical chains," Mr. Trehubov said.
Russia has had success with the "tightening the purse" tactic before in some hot spots in Donetsk and they are now targeting Pokrovsk.
He said Ukrainian forces were using drones and precision weapons to try to prevent Russian troops from reaching their targets.
