On the afternoon of December 11, comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting of the Provincial People's Committee to listen to the Department of Planning and Investment report on the progress of planning Thai Binh province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; investment policy and investors implementing the Thai Binh LNG thermal power plant project. The planning of Thai Binh province for the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, is built with the goal of promoting all potentials, advantages, resources and human factors to develop Thai Binh rapidly, comprehensively and sustainably, with a modern economic structure with industry as the main driving force for growth, making Thai Binh one of the industrial development centers of the region. To achieve the set goals, Thai Binh province identifies 6 key tasks, 3 development breakthroughs; at the same time, builds directions for developing important sectors; builds plans to organize socio-economic activities, plan the urban system and organize rural areas, develop functional areas...

In his concluding remarks, Comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: The establishment of the provincial planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, is of utmost importance in the socio-economic development of the province as well as the province's long-term development strategy.

He welcomed the consulting unit and departments, branches and localities in the process of making the provincial planning and requested the consulting unit and departments, branches and localities to continue to make efforts and review the work to complete the provincial planning.

Giving specific comments on some explanatory contents according to the comments of central ministries and branches, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the consulting unit to closely review the contents of the provincial planning to ensure accuracy and compliance with requirements; departments, branches and localities proactively coordinate with the consulting unit in the completion process; strive to submit to the Prime Minister for signing the decision approving the provincial planning in 2023.

Regarding the Thai Binh LNG thermal power plant project, according to the report, this is a project included in the national power development plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 (power plan VIII); with an investment location in Thai Do commune, Thai Thuy district; the expected land area used is nearly 270 hectares; the designed capacity includes 2 units, with a capacity of about 1,500 MW; the total investment capital is nearly 2 billion USD. The goal of the project is to produce gas electricity from liquefied natural gas LNG and transmit electricity from the production site to the distribution system.

Agreeing with the policy of approving the investment in the Thai Binh LNG thermal power plant project and approving the investor to implement the project including the consortium of Truong Thanh Vietnam Group Joint Stock Company, Tokyo Gas Co., LTD and Kyuden International Corporation, he requested the Department of Planning and Investment to coordinate with the Provincial People's Committee Office to complete the report of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Party Executive Committee.
