Japan U17 is considered one of the top candidates for the championship, so Vietnam U17 is considered to be lower than its opponent. When the idea of using defense as a foundation could not be implemented, Vietnam U17 had to pick the ball out of the net. Accordingly, in a siege from the right wing in the 2nd minute, Michiwaki easily jumped high to head the ball, scoring a goal for Japan U17.
U17 Vietnam (red shirt) played hard throughout the 90 minutes.
The early goal helped the young Samurai play more comfortably. Meanwhile, U17 Vietnam had to push forward in hopes of finding an equalizer. It must be admitted that the U17 Vietnam midfield controlled the ball quite well, helping the home team play proactively. However, U17 Japan showed great discipline in organizing defense when the midfielders supported the defense quite effectively, creating a 2-layer defense system in front of the 16m50 area, making it difficult for U17 Vietnam players to create problems towards the opponent's goal.
In the second half, U17 Japan accelerated, causing U17 Vietnam's defense to fall into confusion. From a pass on the right wing in the 59th minute, Mochizuki rushed in to cushion the ball, scoring a goal to raise the score to 2-0 for the home team. Being down by 2 goals while their physical strength was reduced and their skills were completely lost, U17 Vietnam could not resist every time U17 Japan pushed forward to attack. In the 66th minute, Sato escaped to receive a pass from his teammate and then made a beautiful shot, raising the score to 3-0 for U17 Japan. In the 74th minute, Mochizuki rushed in to score after goalkeeper Bao Ngoc tried to push the ball away to save the home team, thereby raising the score to 4-0 for the young Samurai.
Coach Hoang Anh Tuan hopes his players will play better in the final match against U17 Uzbekistan.
Under great pressure from the opposing team in the second half, U17 Vietnam created a much clearer scoring opportunity compared to the first half. Accordingly, Cong Phuong had the ball outside the penalty area and suddenly took a long shot that bounced off the post of U17 Japan's goal, preventing Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan's team from scoring an honorary goal in the 72nd minute. In the end, U17 Japan beat U17 Vietnam with a score of 4-0. This result made U17 Vietnam's chance of advancing in this group quite low.
Speaking after the match, coach Hoang Anh Tuan said: “The result of the match is certainly not happy at all. But in fact, U17 Japan is a very strong team. In this match, they performed very well. Losing to Japan is a normal story. The important thing is that we still have a chance to continue if we can solve the last match. Therefore, we have to forget this match to focus on the decisive match with U17 Uzbekistan. Surely in the next match, you will see U17 Vietnam play with a completely different spirit. Regarding preparation, I cannot answer right now. Let's wait until the match starts."
