Binh Phuoc is a province that has all the elements of "heavenly time, favorable terrain, and harmony of people". Most impressively, in 2023, the province's agricultural growth rate was among the top in the country. Typical, progressive faces, creating circular values, and billionaires in Binh Phuoc getting rich from the agricultural economy on this land are also appearing more and more.
Among them, farmer Nguyen Viet Vi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of Phuoc Thien Trade and Service Cooperative, Bu Dop District (Binh Phuoc Province) was honored to be recognized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union as an outstanding farmer in 2023.
"Lifetime" agricultural products
In 2006, Mr. Vi successfully planted red-fleshed guava. This product once "made waves" in the market and contributed to creating a unique brand value for Binh Phuoc agricultural products.
Then, also from his dynamism, creativity, and eagerness to learn, during a business trip to Taiwan (China), Mr. Vi was attracted by the golden, sweet fruit.
He boldly ordered 5 branches to try planting and in 2016, this special crop was successfully propagated in Binh Phuoc and really brought high economic efficiency, that is the golden star apple.
Not stopping there, in 2019, Mr. Vi launched the red-fleshed jackfruit variety - "made in Binh Phuoc". This is a special fruit variety, researched and crossbred by Phuoc Thien Trade and Service Cooperative from many gene sources, producing a quality jackfruit variety with the PT79 red-fleshed jackfruit brand, scientific name Artocarpus heterophyllus.
“To create this jackfruit variety, my colleagues and I worked tirelessly for 5 years. We failed many times, but we always tried hard and persevered, so we succeeded beyond expectations,” Mr. Vi confided.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Vi and his wife, billionaire in Binh Phuoc, grow red jackfruit, a specialty fruit, proud of the PT79 red-fleshed jackfruit and golden star apple products that they crossbred themselves, which have great appeal in the market.
The superiority of this jackfruit variety is high disease resistance, early fruiting, stable yield, variety protection and has been recognized by the Department of Crop Production, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as originating in Binh Phuoc, the brand of Phuoc Thien Trade - Service Cooperative.
From this product, the cooperative has created a chain of jackfruit gardens in and outside the province with an area of nearly 2,000 hectares. The average output is 5,000 tons of fruit/year.
Not only focusing on building a sustainable organic agricultural production chain with farmers in the district, province and neighboring provinces, Phuoc Thien Trade - Service Cooperative also supports, provides technical advice, accompanies farmers to help crops achieve high productivity, low investment costs, stable and long-term output, contributing to building the fruit brand of Binh Phuoc in particular and Vietnam in general.
Red-fleshed jackfruit PT79 (Made in Binh Phuoc), an agricultural product with high economic value, crossbred by Mr. Nguyen Viet Vi during the harvest season.
Over the years, the cooperative's products have always focused on both design and quality with whole red-fleshed jackfruit, split red-fleshed jackfruit, frozen jackfruit, and dried jackfruit.
With delicious quality, the products have received many great awards from central to local levels.
In which, PT79 red-fleshed jackfruit and golden star apple are in the top 10 prestigious integrated brand products; top 10 prestigious excellent brands awarded by the Department of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology).
Red-fleshed jackfruit and red-fleshed jackfruit seedlings have been certified by the Department of Intellectual Property, granted a planting area code and variety protection, and granted a 4-star OCOP product certificate by the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province; they are high-quality products, typical of Binh Phuoc province in 2021.
In May 2023, Mr. Tran Khanh Nam from Ho Chi Minh City, who loves red-fleshed jackfruit PT79, went to Thien Hung commune, Bu Dop district to plant nearly 1 hectare. When planting, Mr. Vi enthusiastically instructed him on how to plant and care for the fruit.
Good news spreads far and wide. In recent times, Phuoc Thien Trade and Service Cooperative has become a familiar destination for visiting, experiencing reality, organizing events, and scientific seminars for teachers and students of institutes and universities in Ho Chi Minh City and many provinces and cities across the country.

Especially from practical experience, along with creative ideas, in early 2024, also from the PT79 red-fleshed jackfruit garden, Mr. Vi continued to launch many unique and novel products from young jackfruit. These are pate, salad, ham, jackfruit sausage (plant-based meat) products with unique characteristics of Phuoc Thien Trade - Service Cooperative.
This is the result of the idea of building a circular ecological agriculture associated with OCOP tourism, creating the traditional identity of the local S'tieng ethnic group (abbreviated as S'tieng Farm Binh Phuoc) that Mr. Vi has long cherished.
From here, these unique and attractive foods bring the experience and enjoyment of the quintessence of Vietnamese fruits, creating professionalism as well as satisfaction for diners near and far.
Realize the goal
With his dedication, enthusiasm, passion and creativity in labor and production, Mr. Vi was elected as Chairman of the Binh Phuoc Billionaire Farmers Club.
Although it has only been operating for nearly a year, the club has taken concrete steps to realize its principles and goals.

According to the assessment of lawyer Nguyen Minh Huong, Vice President of the Vietnam Intellectual Property Association, Permanent Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Intellectual Property Association, the Binh Phuoc Billionaire Farmers Club has done something extremely necessary, if not the most important, in agricultural production and trading of agricultural products.
Immediately after its establishment, the club proactively coordinated with the Vietnam Intellectual Property Association and the Ho Chi Minh City Intellectual Property Association to organize a workshop on the role, origin, and provenance of product labels and trademarks.

S'tieng Farm store displays, introduces and distributes more than 300 typical, safe agricultural products, regional specialties and OCOP products.
From the idea and incubation of Mr. Nguyen Viet Vi, on January 9, 2024, Binh Phuoc Billionaire Farmers Club opened a store to introduce and distribute typical products, OCOP and regional specialties of S'tieng Farm located at the campus of Binh Phuoc Provincial Post Office (Dong Xoai City).
S'tieng Farm displays, introduces and distributes more than 300 typical, safe agricultural products, regional specialties as well as OCOP products in and outside the province.
Born and raised in the borderland, Mr. Vi did not succumb to living conditions and circumstances. On the contrary, with his dynamism, creativity, enthusiasm, and sense of duty, Mr. Vi contributed to the development of Phuoc Thien Trade and Service Cooperative.
The products he has painstakingly collected, researched and bred have contributed to raising the level of Vietnamese agricultural products; helping to develop the economy, enriching families, communities and society.
