On October 30, the OCOP product classification and evaluation council of Quang Yen town held a conference to evaluate and classify OCOP products of Quang Yen town in 2024.
Participating in the evaluation and classification of OCOP products in 2024, the whole town has 12 products of organizations, individuals, and production and business households; of which 9 products are re-evaluated and 3 are new products. 3 new products include: MAT ocean oyster intestines of Tat Thanh Seafood Joint Stock Company (Lien Hoa); banyan tree root yeast wine of Doan Cong Bach business household (Dong Mai ward); salt and pepper chicken of Nguyen Duy Dien business household (Tan An).
6 products re-evaluated according to regulations include: Long Thuong dried shrimp floss, Long Thuong stewed shrimp paste with meat, Duc Hau sour sausage, Diep Cong Tuyen powder painting, Tan An white chicken eggs.

Unlike previous years, this year the Council evaluated, scored, and classified products using software on the system, combined with actual products of participating organizations and individuals, as well as on the websites of each participating unit and organization.
The products evaluated and classified this year have many improvements in quality, diverse designs, ensuring conditions and regulations on stamps, labels, and traceability of products. The products originate from the needs of people's lives, the raw materials are all from agricultural products made by people and available locally; meeting the needs of consumers, aiming to preserve the cultural identity of Vietnamese people.
At the conference, the council members discussed, reviewed and commented on the product profiles with contents such as: Brand name, packaging design, information on product packaging, etc. The council also gave comments for the subject to overcome some existing limitations in order to continue to improve and enhance quality, contributing to upgrading the product, enhancing value, competitiveness in the market and affirming local characteristics.
Based on the results of the evaluation and classification of participating products, the Quang Yen OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council agreed: All 12 products have the potential to achieve 3-star OCOP at the district level. This is the basis for the subjects to continue completing the dossier and submit it to the Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council as a basis for reviewing and deciding to grant stars to the products.
