Vietnamese player scores hat-trick on opening day of 2025 National Women's Cup

On the opening day of the 2025 National Women's Cup taking place on the afternoon of March 25, Vietnam Coal and Minerals Women's Club was held to a 0-0 draw by Phong Phu Ha Nam.

As the defending champions, and playing in a group known as the "group of death" with the presence of Hanoi Women's Club, Vietnam Coal and Minerals entered the match with determination against Phong Phu Ha Nam Club. Although dominating the game and constantly pressuring the team with many young players, the representative of the mining region was not successful in converting their opportunities into goals.

Thanks to concentration and solid defense, Phong Phu Ha Nam excellently held a strong opponent to a draw, ending the opening match with a 0-0 draw. This result makes Group A very attractive in the next rounds.

In Group B, Thai Nguyen T&T and Son La women's clubs had a bustling opening day with dedicated matches and many goals.

After holding their opponents and keeping a clean sheet throughout the first half, Son La women's team collapsed in the second half when they continuously conceded 4 goals. Le Hoai Luong scored the opening goal for Thai Nguyen T&T in the 74th minute. From the 78th to 90+2 minutes, player Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy completed her hat-trick and helped Thai Nguyen T&T win 4-0. These were all very beautiful goals.

This result helps Thai Nguyen T&T lead Group B with 3 points and a goal difference of +4. In the next round, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club with the addition of 2 Vietnamese-origin players Chelsea Le and Ashley Tram Anh will officially enter the race for the top spot with Thai Nguyen T&T.

The 2025 National Women's Football Cup will take place at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (VYF), Hanoi from March 25 to April 6. The teams will be divided into two groups (3 teams each) and will compete in a round robin to determine rankings.

The four teams ranked first and second in the two groups will compete in the semi-finals to determine the champion, runner-up, third and fourth place teams. The two third-placed teams in each group will play a match for fifth and sixth place.
