University Admissions 2025: Diplomatic Academy uses 12 admission combinations

Tonight, March 27, the Diplomatic Academy announced its expected university admission method for 2025, with many new points compared to last year's admission season, notably increasing the number of admission combinations (from 8 combinations to 12 combinations), while adjusting the method to comply with the revised admission regulations recently issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.

This year, the Diplomatic Academy plans to recruit 2,200 students for 8 majors.

All 8 majors use 12 combinations for admission: A00 (math, physics, chemistry), A01 (math, physics, English), C00 (literature, history, geography), D01 (math, literature, English), D03 (math, literature, French), D04 (math, literature, Chinese), D06 (math, literature, German), D07 (math, chemistry, English), D09 (math, English, history), D10 (math, geography, English), D14 (literature, history, English), D15 (literature, geography, English). Of these, D09, D10, D14, D15 are the combinations used for admission by the Diplomatic Academy for the first time.

Eliminate early admission methods

Also this year, the Diplomatic Academy added an admission method combining international certificates and high school graduation exam scores, but removed two early admission methods (based on interview results and based on students' academic results).

Notably, last year, the Diplomatic Academy used up to 72% of its quota for the two early admission methods. Thus, this is a change that will have a significant impact on the academy’s admission results this year.

A small branch of the early admission method based on academic results this year is also used by the Diplomatic Academy (but no longer early admission) which is the method of combining international certificates with academic results.

According to the 2025 university admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Diplomatic Academy also abolished the division of quotas for each method and converted the admission scores of all methods to a 30-point scale (rounded to 2 decimal places). Based on the assessment of the quality of students admitted according to the methods and admission combinations, the Diplomatic Academy will convert the admission scores between the methods and admission combinations.

The principle of admission is by major, taking admission scores from high to low until the quota is full. Candidates are considered equally based on their scores, regardless of the order of their registration wishes, except in the case of candidates with the same admission score at the end of the list, in which case the academy will use additional criteria for admission.

Candidates are only admitted to the highest choice in the list of registered choices. A candidate can apply for admission by different methods if he/she fully meets the prescribed criteria.
