Each guest from a different position brought a lot of interesting information to the hundreds of young people present at the meeting.
Mr. NGO MINH HAI (Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City)
Opportunities for green startups
From the story of brand building, entrepreneurs believe that when starting a business, it is necessary to build a brand from the roots, systematically and firmly, always ready for every opportunity. Answering the question "Do startups have the opportunity to access capital sources to develop and expand the market?", Mr. Tran Hung Huy - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB) - said that green credit is an area that ACB is promoting, creating many opportunities for green businesses.
"ACB is working with many international investment funds. They are interested and want to work with businesses in the field of sustainable development. The remaining story is how young businesses can meet the conditions of these investment funds to take advantage of the fund together with ACB" - Mr. Huy shared.
Ms. Bui Phuong Thao - AirX Carbon sustainability director - asked how to build personal brand and corporate brand, Mr. Huy said that personal brand cannot be separated but is a part of corporate brand.
"If you are leading a business and are also a KOL in a certain field, it is very good to take advantage of this advantage, without having to be too separate but can use it as a lever to bring the product to many people. I think Tuoi Tre Start-up Award is a very good opportunity for young start-ups to introduce their image" - Mr. Huy commented.
Accompanying the startups of Tuoi Tre Start-up Award 2024 for the past two months, Mr. Pham Phu Ngoc Trai - Chairman of Packaging Recycling Alliance (PRO Vietnam) - highly appreciated the models of this year's startups. Having participated in the evaluation board for many years, Mr. Ngoc Trai hopes to help startups gain more business experience, knowledge, inspiration and support to implement the project.

What to do for sustainable development?
Giving advice to young startups, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky - Chairman of Vietravel's Board of Directors - sent three keywords: certainty, agility, and continuous innovation. Explaining, Mr. Ky said that building a brand requires meticulousness and certainty to avoid "destroying and rebuilding". At the same time, if a crisis occurs, the business that is quick to seize the opportunity will win, not "the big fish swallowing the small fish".
"Customer awareness and needs are changing very quickly. After the pandemic, society will be completely new, especially in terms of consumption, so start-ups must always change to meet market needs," Mr. Ky advised.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang - Deputy General Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op) - said start-ups need to cooperate with other businesses to reach out and nurture brand value from the root.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Huy - General Director of Pencil Group and Vietnam Legacy Branding Center - concluded with the word "culture". That is the culture of the owner, the culture of the brand and the culture of consumption that any business building a brand needs to pay attention to.
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Linh Cat - founder of fashion brand CATSA - agrees that building a sustainable brand is difficult but not impossible. The success of a start-up comes from being different, persistent and meaningful, bringing emotions to customers.
Back to square one, why not?
Sharing the story of giving up the fashion brand CATSA, which she had built for 13 years with dozens of stores, to "return to the starting line" with the new brand CATCI, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Linh Cat said: "I started over from the starting line with a new brand, new people, new thinking, responding to sustainable fashion trends."
Ms. Vu Ha Trang - Marketing Director of HUB Technology Joint Stock Company - said that being in the top 20 of Tuoi Tre Start-up Award 2024 not only creates joy and great motivation but also shows that the first steps in the business's goals have been recognized.
"Green entrepreneurship is not a responsibility or pressure but a great opportunity for businesses. When ensuring economic factors and social responsibility, we feel that we are creating value for both the business and the parties. Tuoi Tre's program has brought us closer to customers" - Ms. Trang expressed.
