Natural cosmetics, a trend that is 'obviously chosen' by users

Green consumption is an inevitable trend in business strategies of enterprises when consumers change their shopping habits. Not outside this trend, manufacturers create natural cosmetics, which are favored by users.

On March 21, at the launching ceremony of the Natural Organic Medicinal Personal Care Product Set in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Anh Hien - Director of Biomedical Equipment Joint Stock Company (BIOMEQ), shared that the birth of natural cosmetic products under the BioHealth brand originated from the desire of consumers, as well as meeting the need for "green living".

From ginger, betel leaves, soapberries, pennywort, rabbit ear cactus... under green extraction technology, natural cosmetics "touch" consumers.

Products labeled "green" are selected

Attending the product launch ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tho (living in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City) said that for many years she has had the habit of using cosmetics, shampoo, shower gel, and hand sanitizer associated with nature.

Ms. Tho said: "Every time I go to a supermarket or shopping mall, any product labeled "green" "holds me back". Before, I had few choices for natural cosmetic products and environmentally friendly products.

Currently, the market has many green cosmetic products with improved quality than before. In addition to green products, my criteria is that the manufacturer sells at a reasonable price, easy to buy, and good quality."

Not only individual consumers, companies, businesses, schools… when shopping for stationery and gifts also prioritize buying environmentally friendly products.

According to a principal at a kindergarten in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, awareness of "green" consumption for students, teachers and product experience to bring health in a direction "less involved" with industry, is very important.

"The school often uses gift products, "green" products such as bamboo-wrapped water bottles, paper gift bags, hand soap, and shower gel for children, all of which are of natural origin.

For example, according to folk experience, babies with prickly heat should bathe in pennywort water or medicinal herbs... Schools and parents are all interested in natural cosmetics," this person acknowledged.

Meanwhile, businesses also believe that choosing gift products associated with the word "green" is both "timely" and demonstrates the business's vision.

Compete with quality

It is not too difficult to choose to buy a natural cosmetic, a 'vegan' cosmetic and today's consumers are not only concerned with price, but quality is a factor that makes users consider using and choosing a brand.

Discussing the story of competition in the beauty market of natural cosmetics, Mr. Hien said that organic natural cosmetics are safe and benign and admitted that it is not difficult to buy "vegan" cosmetics and cosmetics of natural origin.

However, the BioHealth brand with product lines such as: soapberry shampoo; mouthwash from betel leaves; facial cleanser from rabbit ear cactus; herbal shower gel from pennywort; or charcoal ginger toothpaste, ginger shampoo; antibacterial medicine from sage leaves... is committed by Mr. Hien to be different, because of the quality.

Mr. Hien emphasized during the product "launch": "Not just cosmetics, the difference is in quality, not using industrial medicinal ingredients or flavors.

From fresh raw materials, we apply green extraction technology, separate and blend the finished product, produce according to high-tech standards, and achieve ISO and FDA certification.

Meanwhile, according to an economic expert in Ho Chi Minh City, natural cosmetics have become a trend and are especially popular among Gen Z customers, young people who are highly aware of health and environmental issues.

"Natural cosmetics in the future will create a new look, even change part of the beauty industry. Therefore, for sustainable development, product quality is the top factor that businesses aim for," experts said.

By 2025, natural cosmetics worldwide will reach nearly 21 billion USD

Statista data shows that the global natural and vegan cosmetics market has increased from 13.56 billion USD in 2018 to 16.29 billion USD in 2021. It is estimated that by 2025, this market will reach 20.8 billion USD.

Meanwhile, a report by MarketGlass Research predicts that the global natural cosmetics market will exceed $21 billion by 2027, with China, the US, Japan and Canada being the key countries driving the market value.

In Vietnam, there are currently many natural cosmetic brands that are popular with users, creating excitement for the domestic cosmetic market.
