Can Gio Green Project promotes pioneering spirit, building green lifestyle
"The project promotes the pioneering spirit of young people in planting and caring for mangrove forests, along with propaganda and education activities to raise awareness about protecting the ecosystem, saving resources, and strengthening community connections in environmental activities in Can Gio," said Mr. Le Duc Dat.
This year, the project focuses on promoting green lifestyles, spreading environmental protection messages among young people and on cyberspace by recognizing and praising green living actions on the HCM GREEN CITY application, while also taking care of and supporting households to protect forests and develop mangrove ecosystems.
The project also called for resources to build Thanh An island commune into a Youth Island. Miss Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc (Gen Zero project) and everyone planted mangrove trees as part of the community's commitment to planting and protecting forests and the mangrove environment.
Bao Ngoc shared that she is very happy to see many young people today joining hands for the environment. Because the Earth started out green, she hopes everyone will keep it green for our own survival.
Protecting protective forests for the city
Mr. Bui Van Hiep (55 years old) has more than 30 years of experience in the profession. Although the work is difficult, he is always dedicated, knowing that protecting protective forests means protecting the green lungs of the city and the country.
Ms. Le Thi Xoa (53 years old) has also been involved in forest protection work for 11 years and is always proud when mentioning her work that has been passed down for three generations.
"I am happy to live, contribute and protect Can Gio protective forest. I appreciate it even more and will devote myself to my job when I receive everyone's attention," Ms. Xoa expressed.
At the launching ceremony, the project received 200 national flags for the flag route in Binh Khanh commune, a project to paint a wall to create beauty, 30 medical cabinets for forest protection households and 200 free medical examinations. In addition, 20 scholarships, 20 backpacks for children and 20 trash cans were given to maintain public hygiene.
The volunteer project "Green Can Gio" with the message of joining hands to protect the environment contributes to forming a green lifestyle.
After the launching ceremony, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and Can Gio district visited and presented a restored portrait to the family of martyr Nguyen Van Chung, made by students.
The organizers said they will start implementing projects and tasks within the project framework such as: consulting, health check-ups and medicine distribution for forest protection households, training in digital transformation skills, and painting walls to beautify Can Gio.
