Phu Giao currently has more than 300 hectares of durian, concentrated in the communes of An Thai, An Linh, Phuoc Sang, Tan Hiep, An Binh, Tam Lap, Vinh Hoa and Phuoc Vinh town. This is the district's main crop, being developed in the direction of high-tech cultivation. The district has been granted 3 codes for durian growing areas for export to China. The training course helps farmers effectively apply science and technology, improve product quality, minimize risks and move towards sustainable agricultural production.
The course takes place over 14 weeks (1 session per week) using the “farmer field study” (FFS) method, combined with the IPHM model – integrated plant health management. The training content focuses on practice, helping farmers practice their skills in observation, assessment and effective technical decision making.
The program includes techniques for safe durian planting and care, pest management, nutrition, and ecological environment; proper use of fertilizers and pesticides; garden assessment records; and provides knowledge about growing area standards, traceability, and export orientation.
