In an article right after the talks and joint press conference between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his host counterpart Petr Fiala, CTK news agency solemnly announced that Vietnam and the Czech Republic upgraded their relations to a strategic partnership and wished to strengthen relations in many fields.
The article quoted Prime Minister Fiala pointing out the prospects for Czech companies in the petrochemical, nuclear energy, medical and biotechnology industries in Vietnam. Referring to the participation of up to 130 enterprises in the Vietnam-Czech Republic Business Forum held on the same day in Prague, Prime Minister Fiala emphasized the potential for cooperation between the two countries and the priority of establishing a direct flight between Hanoi and Prague.
In addition, the agreement on higher education between the two governments is expected to facilitate the exchange of students and academic researchers, while the pilot training cooperation agreement is considered a typical example of substantive cooperation between the two countries.
CTK also quoted Prime Minister Fiala as assessing the great potential for business cooperation with Vietnam, typically cooperation in automobile production, defense industry, mining and aerospace. The article affirmed that Vietnam is the most important trade partner of the Czech Republic in Southeast Asia. The newspaper reviewed Vietnam's strong exports to the Czech Republic such as electronics, footwear, etc., and mentioned typical examples of bilateral economic and trade cooperation such as Skoda Auto will start producing cars in Vietnam in the first quarter of this year.
Czech Television quoted Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Lucas Vlcek as saying at the Vietnam-Czech Republic Business Forum that Vietnam is a promising market, considered by foreign investors as one of the most attractive countries in the region. The Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade is planning to organize a number of events in 2025 to further strengthen cooperation with Vietnam, including a Czech business forum in the capital Hanoi.
