Tue Duc School System has just sent an official report to relevant units about cases of students of this school showing symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea, and suspected poisoning after meals at school.
Specifically, according to the report, at Tue Duc School on Luong Dinh Cua Street (Thu Duc City), on the morning of March 26, the homeroom teacher of class 1P6 received information from the parents of two students N. and T. in classes 1P6 and 3P5, saying that their children had symptoms of nausea and diarrhea, and the family took their children to the hospital for examination. After going to the hospital for examination, the two students were diagnosed with suspected food poisoning.
Also on the morning of March 26, after organizing breakfast for the whole school, the school received 2 more cases at school with similar symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea. After being taken to the hospital, both cases have now returned to class as usual.
Tue Duc School System has officially reported the incident.
At noon on March 26, the school held a meeting with the Board of Directors, the medical department, admissions department, and homeroom teachers of the students involved. There were a total of 38 suspected cases of food poisoning with symptoms of headaches, vomiting, and diarrhea after eating at school. Of these, 5 cases of female students with physiological abdominal pain were identified.
The school has also taken samples for testing and sent food samples for testing. At the same time, it has also notified the parents of the students involved to coordinate monitoring. By 4:00 p.m. on March 26, except for 2 students who stayed at home and 1 student who asked to go home for family monitoring, the remaining 35 students are in stable health and are currently back in class studying normally, with no hospitalizations.
Also on the afternoon of March 26, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City went to Tue Duc Primary and Secondary School to work; check the status, records and preliminary processing procedures at the school kitchen and grasp the situation of students suspected of food poisoning.
At Tue Duc School on Nguyen Thi Dinh Street (Thu Duc City), on March 26, 2 students also had to go to the hospital for examination with symptoms of nausea and diarrhea. At 8:00 a.m. on March 27, the school received additional information from parents that 7 more students had stomach aches and asked to stay home for observation.
"Through information from the records, there were a total of 7 cases with the same suspected symptoms of mild abdominal pain that were proactively allowed by their parents to stay home for further monitoring," the report stated.
According to this school's report, the food source is provided by industrial kitchen supplier Haxeca Mekong.
