TPO - According to Minister Nguyen Kim Son, the capital must move towards an elegant education. There, schools must be places where students are guaranteed safety, no school violence, no swearing, no forced extra classes. Most importantly, there, people treat each other with love and responsibility.
Speaking at the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Capital Education and Training Sector, Mr. Son affirmed that the Capital Education and Training Sector has always been one of the pioneering units, leading in all tasks of the entire sector.
Currently, the scale of education in Hanoi accounts for over 10% of the country's education scale, with a network of schools and classes that are constantly expanding, becoming more and more spacious and modern, and the rate of national and international standard schools is increasing.
Hanoi education is gradually meeting the learning needs of the capital's children, both formal and continuing education, both improving people's knowledge and nurturing talents. The quality of comprehensive education and mass education is constantly being improved, and key education is always at the top of the country with nearly 2,500 awards at national competitions for excellent students and medals at international competitions.
According to the Minister, the Capital Education Department, as a pillar of the national education sector, is also facing common challenges and opportunities for the entire education sector. One of the major challenges is the need to continue to innovate and improve quality, meeting the human resource needs for the new development stage with many new requirements of the country in the context of rapid development of science and technology, diverse and constantly changing human resource needs and requirements.
The Minister also emphasized that the Hanoi Education sector has its own specific difficulties and challenges, which are the dense concentration of students, uneven distribution and many fluctuations, leading to difficulties in assigning routes, meeting the great learning needs and the shortage of local public schools in some areas. The gap in quality and educational conditions between inner-city district schools and suburban district schools is still quite large.
Difficulties in lack of space, planning of school and classroom networks in some inner-city districts, places with many industrial parks, new urban areas, etc.
He hopes that the Education sector will continue to advise the city's leaders to continue to remove those difficulties so that teachers and students have the best conditions for teaching and development. Hanoi will continue to be a model and pioneer for education nationwide, taking human development as the focus and goal.
“The capital’s education needs to aim higher than the national average, creating elegant citizens of the capital, with cultural awareness, social responsibility, and knowing how to live happily for themselves and the community. These are citizens with high cultural qualities, with skills in science and technology, civilized and elegant citizens of the digital age, good at expertise, and good at foreign languages. To do so, the capital’s education must aim to be an elegant education,” the Minister advised.
The solutions that the Minister suggested for the Hanoi Education sector in the coming time are to build elegant schools. There, schools must be places where students are guaranteed safety, no school violence, no swearing, no forced extra classes. Most importantly, there, people treat each other with love and responsibility.
In addition, Hanoi also needs to focus on solving urgent problems such as: reducing the gap in educational quality between regions and schools; reducing the gap between the results of key education and mass education so that students in any region, school, or class can access the best educational environment and quality; better resolving the relationships between schools and society, schools and localities, teachers and parents, etc. to create an educational environment with order, where the quality of education is guaranteed and the dignity of the profession is respected.
