According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the cause of unseasonal rain is due to the equatorial low pressure trough with an axis at 5-8 degrees North latitude connecting with disturbances offshore in the South China Sea that tend to move towards the Southern mainland.
It is forecasted that from April 3, the equatorial low pressure trough connecting with disturbances in the Southern region will gradually weaken and rain will gradually decrease.
The weather in Ho Chi Minh City during this time is cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms in some places in the late afternoon and at night. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind. The lowest temperature is from 23 - 26 degrees Celsius, the highest is from 31 - 34 degrees Celsius.
