In recent days, the northern mountainous provinces such as Yen Bai, Lang Son, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Bac Kan, Lao Cai... and many districts in Hanoi have suffered severe consequences caused by storm Yagi.

Flash floods and landslides swept away houses, schools, crops, and property, leaving heavy losses for the people. Many families have lost loved ones, thousands of houses and villages are submerged in water, many households are staying up all night to fight against floods, lacking food, clean water, and basic necessities to maintain daily life.
According to initial information from some localities, up to now, 7 students and 2 teachers have died, 1 teacher is missing due to storms and floods; tens of thousands of schools have been damaged; millions of students have not been able to go to school.
More than ever, the northern provinces heavily affected by Typhoon Yagi are in dire need of the whole community to help them overcome their difficulties. The sooner help arrives, the more valuable it is at this time.
With the tradition of mutual love, Newton Secondary and High School sends an Open Letter to teachers, parents and students about donating to support people affected by storms and floods.
This is an activity with profound humanitarian meaning, both sharing with the flood victims and educating the spirit of humanity for students. Newton School started accepting donations from September 10 to 5:00 p.m. on September 12 in both cash and in-kind.

Thai Thinh Secondary School, Dong Da launched and began receiving donations for flood victims from the afternoon of September 10. Before that, in the school yard, the principal, teachers, parents, and students came together to support; contributing a small part to warm the hearts of our fellow countrymen in times of hardship and misfortune.
The school will conduct an inventory, make it public and transparent, and transfer the donation amount to the Dong Da District Fatherland Front Committee to transfer to the Hanoi City Fatherland Front Committee to distribute to localities affected by storm No. 3.
Responding to the campaign launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front, continuing the tradition of mutual love and support, the Foreign Language Secondary School (University of Foreign Languages) also called for support from the warm and sharing hearts of parents and students of the school. Every contribution and help, no matter how small, becomes a great source of motivation, adding strength to the people in the flood area to soon overcome loss and pain.
To join hands to support people in difficulty, the Board of Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School (Cau Giay District) decided to donate 200 million VND to support people affected by storms and floods. This amount will be directly transferred by the school to the Central Relief Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee with the hope of being allocated and used most effectively. The school hopes that parents and students will join in this meaningful volunteer activity.
Along with the fundraising campaign to support flood victims, many schools in Hanoi said they would not organize the Mid-Autumn Festival as previously planned, but would instead dedicate all the organization's funds to sending to the people, as a way to spread the spirit of solidarity, love, compassion, and sharing to the community.
Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Education Trade Union organized the "Launching Ceremony of the Education Sector to Support People Affected by Storm No. 3".
At the launching ceremony, leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training, units and individuals inside and outside the education sector donated a total of more than 6.6 billion VND; of which the Hanoi Education and Training sector alone donated 1 billion VND. The donation activities will continue in the coming days through the Vietnam Education Trade Union channel.
