The overwhelming power of Malaysian universities
After the first two matches, Malaysia University only needs at least 1 point (or a loss with a difference of less than 2 goals) to ensure a ticket to the semi-finals of the 2025 International Youth Student Football Tournament - THACO Cup.
However, the goal of coach Mohd Yazli Yahya and his team is bigger than that: winning to affirm their status as champions of Malaysian school football.
Therefore, the encounter with Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism (the champion of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2025) is both a challenge and a great opportunity to prove one's ability. The stronger the team, the more one can demonstrate one's stature.

The Malaysian University took full advantage of the opportunity, with an overwhelming advantage over the Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the match at 3:30 p.m. today (March 26). The Malaysian representative affirmed their position as the superior team when dominating the match with smooth passing and effective rhythm control.
The midfield of Malaysia University with "conductor" Zikry Bin Hafis dominated the game, completely overwhelming the players who had shined in the domestic tournament of Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism such as Ngan Nhu Dung or Le Van Thuc.
Up front, striker Haziq Bin Deli became a symbol of the Malaysian team's playing style, with his ability to run wild and shoot with variety.
The Vietnamese representative could only endure the pressure, before conceding a goal at the beginning of the second half when striker Bin Deli swept past two defenders to shoot past goalkeeper Thatsa Xaiyasone.
Coach Nguyen Cong Thanh understood the strength of the Malaysian striker, so he arranged for two players to stand guard. They were both quality defenders like Ha Lam Thanh and Nguyen Van Anh, both of whom played for the Thanh Hoa U.19 team. However, Bin Deli still got past him to score.
The goal was Bin Deli's effort, but it was also the result of the process of controlling the match and putting all-out pressure that the University of Malaysia imposed on the Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

With methodical attacks, diverse techniques, cohesive team play and knowing when to take down the opponent, Malaysia University convincingly entered the semi-finals with the top position. The real championship candidate has been revealed.
The Secret of Malaysian University
What is admirable about the University of Malaysia is that the players still maintain good physical strength despite undergoing the typical Muslim diet during Ramadan (eating only at night after the sun has set, and eating at 3am before sunrise).
"I studied the playing style of the University of Malaysia to choose the right approach and playing style. Thanks to the whole team for following the tactics. We won thanks to choosing the right time to unleash our attacks," affirmed coach Mohd Yazli Yahya.
"We know that diet can affect the players' performance, but the University of Malaysia has been preparing for every situation since the beginning of the month."
With the top spot in Group B, Malaysia University will face the second place in Group A (to be determined after the match between Ton Duc Thang University and Lao University). Regardless of the opponent, the Malaysian representative will try to get a ticket to the final.
"It doesn't matter which team we meet in the semi-finals. We will try our best to bring a good performance, with the beautiful football that the team always pursues," coach Mohd Yazli Yahya shared.
The defeat against Malaysia University was the first loss of Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism after 11 matches in the Youth Student Competition (including both domestic and international tournaments). In this match, coach Nguyen Cong Thanh used a strong lineup, but the Vietnamese representative could not control the match. Then, a moment of defensive lapse caused Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism to receive the only goal.
