NDO - From more than 40,000 registered candidates, the Organizing Committee of the 8th "English Talent Contest for Students in the Capital" in 2024 has found 50 outstanding faces to deploy the final round, divided equally into 2 groups: high school and university-college-academy.
On the evening of December 7, in Hanoi, the City Youth Union and the Hanoi City Student Association organized the final round of the 8th "English Talent Contest for students in the capital" in 2024.
Taking place last September, the preliminary round of the contest recorded more than 40 thousand candidates participating in two categories: high school and university-college-academy.
From here, 200 excellent candidates entered the semi-finals, held on October 7. Through the exciting competitions, 25 outstanding faces in each group entered the final round of the contest.
According to Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the Hanoi Student Association Nguyen Tien Hung, in addition to the main purpose of improving foreign language skills for students, the contest also encourages the spirit of learning, creativity and critical thinking, creating conditions for young people to exchange experiences, become more confident in communicating and using English, and at the same time discover and foster high-quality human resources for the country in the context of global integration.

"Many international companies as well as domestic enterprises now put English as a top requirement when recruiting staff. With Vietnam's current deep integration process, English has become an important tool in attracting foreign investment and developing trade. In terms of technology, mastering English will help young people exploit and use modern applications more effectively and easily," said Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung.
In the final round of the competition, after many hours of competition and fierce pursuit of the score, the Organizing Committee found the 6 best individuals and 6 teams to award the final prizes of the 2 groups.

Specifically, the first prizes in the individual category went to two contestants, Nguyen Kieu Trang (Hanoi National University of Education High School) and Nguyen Thi Huong (Hanoi National University of Education). The first place in the team category went to the teams Collaborator and The Stellar Minds.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also awarded collective prizes to 6 units with outstanding achievements in implementing the contest, with the largest number of contestants participating.
