Reenacting the story of Luong The Vinh measuring the height of trees and weighing elephants

TPO - From Trang Luong Luong The Vinh to famous scientists around the world, they are vividly recreated on stage through the perspective and performance of students from the Foreign Language High School, University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The yard of Foreign Language High School was bustling with excitement with the Natural Science Fun Festival event, a program organized by the Natural Science group, attracting many students from grades 10 and 11 and encouraging students from grade 12 to participate.

Cheers, applause, and shouts filled the air as the series of activities were carried out in parallel by the five houses Amethyst, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, and Amber (names of the teams participating in the event).

Students of Foreign Language High School explore science.

The Natural Science camps of each house are elaborately decorated, creative and full of science. Each house has its own theme: from outer space, sundials, to modern scientific and technological applications. The camp is not only a display space but also a place to express the creativity and initiative of the school's students.

In addition, 15 teams from 5 schools organized a series of interesting science experiences for students. These are the experiences selected from a total of 59 experiences in the preliminary round, including: smart voice assistant, robot design and control, handmade bluetooth speaker, personal finance, hydraulic robot arm, making hand sanitizer, heat-sensitive fire alarm, water rocket, mini wind generator, measuring lung capacity, hydraulic robot arm, warning device for IQ game, elephant toothpaste, hydraulic lift, flood-proof house model.

Activities include: colorful chemistry experiments, biology games exploring the human body, physics challenges about force and motion, interesting science puzzles, etc. Each experiment, each product carries a story, an idea, a solution, proving that science is not only in books but also close, practical and interesting.

The most interesting part of the festival was that 5 houses recreated the portraits of famous scientists in the form of dramatization. Trang Luong Luong The Vinh appeared simple and intelligent through the story of measuring the height of trees and weighing elephants with a language that caught up with teenagers and modernity. Or the touching story from the boy Alfred Nobel to the famous chemist and the award named after him.

But perhaps the most memorable story is about scientist Nikola Tesla, the father of alternating current. He is perhaps a typical example of how to succeed, scientists must overcome many obstacles.

Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Chi - Vice Principal of Foreign Language High School - said that thousands of students have transformed into new roles of young scientists, in new challenges such as teamwork skills, organizational skills, discovery and research skills, presentation skills, etc.

Ms. Chi said that this festival was first held at the Foreign Language High School 27 years ago. The festival is always eagerly awaited by students and they always "burn themselves out" with scientific experiments that are difficult, mysterious but also full of fascinating magic.
