NDO - After nine dramatic rounds, three teams from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University); Hanoi Medical University; Foreign Language University (Hanoi National University) have excellently entered the final round of the New Generation Student 2024 competition. In the final result, Foreign Language University won the championship with the SignbySign project and received the highest award.
On the afternoon of November 9, at Hoang Mai Stadium, the final round of the New Generation Student 2024 competition took place. This is a reality TV show organized by Vietnam Television in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association. The participating teams are students from universities, bringing creative community projects, through their journey to demonstrate their passion, enthusiasm, talent, creativity and responsibility to society.
From 200 registered projects from 50 universities nationwide, the Jury selected eight teams to participate in the competition and then, the three best teams with three impressive projects entered the final round, namely: University of Science and Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University); Hanoi Medical University; University of Foreign Languages (Hanoi National University).
According to the Organizing Committee, the New Generation Student Competition is not only a playground but also a journey to help students develop necessary skills such as strategic thinking, presentation skills and teamwork. The jury also highly appreciated the projects not only for their creativity but also for their long-term development vision, creating sustainable impacts on society.

The SignbySign project of the University of Foreign Languages is a sign language system that supports communication for the deaf. The project is designed to convert sign language into text or voice, making communication more convenient for both users and listeners. Not only is it a support tool, the project is also a bridge to help the deaf integrate into the community more easily and confidently.
The Aloi project of the Polytechnic University is to create an environmentally friendly food wrap made from aloe vera. The project aims to develop a safe and natural food preservation solution, replacing traditional plastic and nylon products, contributing to the reduction of plastic waste.
The Hanoi Medical University team brought to the competition the Tellme project, a psychological counseling platform dedicated to patient relatives, a group that is often neglected during the treatment process. This is an initiative to support the mental health of patient caregivers, who often have to bear the psychological stress and anxiety during the treatment of their loved ones. The Tellme project provides an online platform where relatives can seek psychological counseling, share their feelings, receive support and advice from experts in the field of psychology. This is a humane project, calling for empathy and support to reduce the mental burden on patient families.
Professor, Doctor of Science Tran Xuan Bach, Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union, member of the Jury, commented: “Each project has two aspects: One is the innovation in content, technology, and expertise in each field. Second, the potential to spread the impact of the project to the community and society.”
According to the jury's assessment, all three projects were highly applicable and community-oriented. However, in the presentation, the team from the University of Foreign Languages received the maximum score from the jury, winning the championship with the SignbySign project and receiving a prize worth a total of 200 million VND.
