Ms. Hong was elected by the people of Tan Giao village as Secretary of the village Party Cell. In 2019, she was elected to concurrently hold the position of Head of the Village Front Work Committee and Member of the Commune Fatherland Front Committee. Determining that in order for the movement and activities to develop, it is necessary to create consensus among the people and that cadres doing front work must be proactive, responsible, enthusiastic about their work, and must match their words with their actions so that the people will believe and follow. Therefore, Ms. Hong is always exemplary and proactive in propaganda work, mobilizing people to well implement the Party's policies, the State's policies and laws, and actively participate in local movements and activities. Especially when implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", with the motto "Do easy things first, do difficult things later", Ms. Hong goes to each family to grasp the situation to gradually overcome difficulties, helping people understand the benefits of building new rural areas.
To make people believe and follow, she enthusiastically explains and analyzes so that people can clearly understand the Party's policies, the State's laws and policies as well as the village's regulations. There are households that have not been understood after the first visit, so she has gone many times. At the same time, she promotes her sense of responsibility, leadership and exemplary role in all village work to set an example for the people. Therefore, in recent years, the village's political tasks have been well completed by her. The people are very sympathetic and supportive, thereby promoting the solidarity of the whole people, gathering the strength of the people to join hands to carry out well the emulation movements and political tasks of the village.
Up to now, Tan Giao village has gradually completed the criteria for building a model new rural area. Currently, 3 km of roads in the village have been widened from 4m to 7m, 100% concrete, and fences have been built with a unified design and paint color according to regulations. Along the main axes, people have planted and cared for Lagerstroemia and Pearl Eye trees and continued to invest in flower pots on both sides of the road. People have also contributed 17 million VND to install 10 cameras at intersections, crossroads, and crowded public places to ensure security and order in the village. This is also the first unit of Thang Long commune to invest in a security camera system in the village. At the same time, the village invested in 100 flags and flagpoles worth 20 million VND from the road to the village cultural house and along Provincial Road 505. Along with the road expansion, the village also invested 36 million VND to move 11 electric poles close to the roadside to ensure a neat, clean, beautiful and safe landscape.
Regarding environmental sanitation, the village mobilized people to clean the environment once a week, and assigned the women's association to be in charge of cleaning the central area. 100% of households have green trash cans. People have gradually done a good job of classifying waste at the source. The cultural, artistic and sports movements have developed strongly. The village has 1 artificial turf football field, 2 volleyball courts, 1 playground for children and a playground for the elderly. People comply with the village rules and regulations of the community where they live, practice a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals according to regulations; fully participate in charity, humanitarian, gratitude, education and talent promotion movements.
In addition, Ms. Hong regularly encourages people to develop the economy; change the structure of crops and livestock, and develop occupations. Specifically, for the traditional rice vermicelli making profession, Ms. Hong has promoted and mobilized people to produce Thang Long rice vermicelli products to ensure food hygiene and safety, and build a brand for the product. Currently, the village has 55 households doing the profession. In recent years, vermicelli makers have proactively invested in machinery in some production stages, so productivity is much higher, and income from making rice vermicelli has also improved significantly. The Thang Long rice vermicelli craft village concentrated in Tan Giao village has been recognized as a craft village by the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province; Thang Long rice vermicelli products have also been recognized as 3-star OCOP products. The vermicelli making profession has created jobs for workers with an income of about 6 - 7 million VND/month. Thanks to focusing on economic development, the average income per capita of Tan Giao village has now reached 70 million VND/person/year. The village has only 2 poor households under social protection and 2 near-poor households.
The results achieved in the movement to build a model new rural area in Tan Giao village originated from the gathering of the people's strength. This is also the factor for the Party cell and the village front work committee to continue to promote to successfully implement all goals and tasks in the coming time, contributing to the efforts of Thang Long commune to successfully build an advanced new rural commune, towards a model new rural area. In recognition of her contributions to the front work, for many consecutive years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong has been commended by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels for her outstanding achievements in the front work. This is a great source of encouragement for her to continue to contribute more to her homeland.
