On April 3, China successfully launched a new satellite, named Tianping-3A 02, into space from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi province, northern China.
The satellite was launched by a Long March-6 rocket and entered a pre-set orbit. The satellite is mainly used for ground-based radar equipment calibration and radar cross section (RCS) measurement.
In addition, the satellite will support imaging experiments for ground-based optical equipment and low-orbit space environment monitoring experiments, as well as orbit prediction model calibration.
This is the 568th launch of the Truong Chinh rocket series./.
