Nguyen Thuy Linh and Beiwen Zhang are warming up for their second match in the group stage. The 26-year-old Vietnamese player is 1.63m tall and right-handed. Beiwen Zhang is 34 years old and 1.69m tall. Both of them won against Tiffany Ho in their first match.

After defeating Tiffany Ho (Australia) with a score of 21-6, 21-3 in Group K of the women's singles badminton event at the 2024 Paris Olympics on July 30, Vietnam's number one female badminton player, Nguyen Thuy Linh, will have her next match at 1:30 p.m. (Vietnam time) today.

Thuy Linh's opponent in this match is Beiwen Zhang (USA). This Chinese tennis player is a strong opponent, having once had a highest ranking of 9th and is currently ranked 11th in the world rankings.

Thuy Linh is currently ranked 26th in the world. Despite facing an opponent 15 places higher on the rankings, Thuy Linh is always steadfast and hopes to continue receiving support and encouragement from fans.

In the past, the Chinese-American tennis player lost 1-2 to Thuy Linh at the 2023 Finland Open. That is the basis for the tennis player from Phu Tho to dream of causing a surprise against the 9th seed of the tournament.

Rower Pham Thi Hue also entered the 13th-24th ranking round of the women's heavyweight single sculls rowing event, at 3:14 p.m. (Vietnam time).

Earlier in yesterday's competition in the quarter-finals, Pham Thi Hue finished 6th with a time of 7 minutes 56 seconds 96. With this result, Pham Thi Hue ranked 2nd in Asia and this is also her best result this year.

Although she failed to qualify for the medals, Pham Thi Hue is working hard to improve her ranking in the top 24 after this grueling race. She will have two more swims that require great will and determination to rank from 13 to 24 rowers at the world's biggest Olympics.

Pham Thi Hue shared: “In competition, for me, there is no such thing as “if only” or “have a chance to do it again next time”. Therefore, I always try my best and never give up under any circumstances.

However, what I am worried about is whether my physical strength will be guaranteed after 2 consecutive days of competition with 200% strength in the last 2 rounds. But my spirit is that no matter what, I must fight with all my might, for myself, my family, my hometown and my beloved Fatherland.
