Tube Coffee Shop is located on Ben Van Don Street (District 4, Ho Chi Minh City).
From being an architect, Mr. Nguyen Huynh (26 years old, living in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City) turned to business. Mr. Huynh and his friend opened a bamboo tube coffee shop. He used to work as a designer and architect before switching to the bamboo tube coffee business. In addition to bamboo tubes, the menu and signboard of the shop were all designed by him. This is an environmentally friendly coffee shop model because bamboo tubes are natural materials that can be reused many times and are easily decomposed.
Mr. Nguyen Huynh
Every day, Mr. Huynh sells 200 to 250 cups of bamboo coffee. The price of each cup ranges from 26,000 VND to 32,000 VND. He said that bamboo tubes are much more expensive than paper cups. However, bamboo tubes can be reused 4-5 times if washed and dried, and after a while, bamboo tubes can be used to grow plants.
Bamboo tubes will go through 2 processing steps including grinding, polishing and then cleaning the tubes before being sold.
Mr. Huynh said: "When researching the market, we found that the need for food and drink is essential and the trend is to find a place to eat with a comfortable space. The restaurant is trying to do two things well: delicious drinks and people coming to the restaurant can sit, chat and watch the street."
"I have not seen any difference in this bamboo tube coffee because it does not have a distinctive smell. Making bamboo tube coffee requires a lot of difference. This form is quite good and environmentally friendly, but in terms of uniqueness, it is not. The taste is the same as other coffees. To have the bamboo tube smell, the tube must be roasted to release the characteristic smell of the bamboo tube" - Mr. Le Dang Khoa (living in Tan Binh district, Ho Chi Minh City) shared.
The first time enjoying tube coffee with friends, Van Uyen (living in Tan Binh district, Ho Chi Minh City) expressed: "I saw it online and found this shop. When I tried it, the smell was a little different from coffee in plastic cups or glass cups. The taste was the same. This stimulates initial curiosity, to develop it, it needs to have a unique taste."
Sun Sokvuthy, a tourist from Cambodia, said that he learned about the tube coffee shop through social media. Sun Sokvuthy decided to come and enjoy it with his family: "It's delicious, Vietnamese and Cambodian coffee are a bit similar. The unique and different design makes people want to come and enjoy it. Protecting the environment is necessary, because sometimes drinking coffee with a plastic cup is not a good idea, so a bamboo cup is the solution.
Unlike the "short-lived" trends, bamboo tube coffee wants to aim for perfection to go the long way, "not just stopping at bamboo tube cups because I also cherish many other ideas about being environmentally friendly, bringing value to customers through experience, so I want to go the long way with bamboo tube coffee" - Nguyen Huynh confided
