On November 28, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that leader Kim Jong-un received photos of the White House, the Pentagon and US aircraft carriers at the Norfolk naval base taken by Pyongyang's spy satellite launched last week.
According to KCNA, the satellite's fine-tuning process is being accelerated to finish one or two days earlier than expected thanks to the facilities and control systems of the National Aerospace Technology Administration (NATA) in Pyongyang.

Mr. Kim Jong-un also received images of the Italian capital Rome, Anderson Air Force Base, Newport Shipyard and an airport in the US state of Virginia.
Previously, on November 27, North Korean Ambassador to the United Nations Kim Song declared before the United Nations Security Council that the recent launch of a spy satellite was a legitimate act of self-defense and rejected the US accusations.
Mr. Kim Song said that North Korea has the legal right to develop, test, manufacture and possess weapons systems similar to those that the US possesses or is developing.

Meanwhile, US Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield rejected North Korea's assertion that the satellite launch was for self-defense purposes, and declared that the joint US-South Korea exercises were "routine" and "defensive in nature".
Immediately after North Korea launched a spy satellite, Western powers, Japan and South Korea issued statements saying that North Korea had violated United Nations Security Council resolutions.
