Opportunities for social science students
In the face of the wave of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, the labor market is undergoing profound changes. A major TV channel recruited directly at the Job Fair, attracting the attention of many social science students. |
General Director of Phuc Tan Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company Pham Van Tan said that the company is always ready to recruit students majoring in social sciences and humanities for positions such as: Marketing, communications, content production, etc.
"Social science students are very dynamic and communicate well, but they need to diversify their knowledge to meet business requirements. We encourage them to do internships right from their first year to have a competitive advantage when applying," said Mr. Pham Van Tan.
From the perspective of a technology recruiter, Mr. Pham Duc Tien, Director of Bidding Ecosystem Company, emphasized: "In a technology company, there are not only technical positions, but also personnel in many other fields such as administration, marketing, and sales. Soft skills, teamwork ability, and proactive spirit are the decisive factors for students to compete in the market."
Innovation in school training
According to Professor, Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the key solution lies in strengthening cooperation between schools and businesses. "The USSH Job Fair organized by the University this year gathered dozens of businesses with nearly 70 booths, bringing nearly 1,300 job opportunities from about 60 recruiting units. Not only does it bring job opportunities to students and young people, it is also a bridge between academic training and practical needs. Technology, especially AI, although creating challenges, is also a powerful support tool. We have proactively integrated technology into teaching, research and community services. A typical example is cooperation with Meta to develop a digital competency framework and generative AI for students, expected to be completed in 2025".
In addition, the school also continuously updates its training programs, opening new majors such as Multimedia Communications and Human Resource Management, based on existing scientific foundations. This reflects innovative thinking, quick adaptation to interdisciplinary trends, ensuring training quality to meet social needs.
The increasing involvement of research and administrative agencies in recruitment is a positive sign, showing the balance between academic and practical requirements. The school is committed to continuing to innovate and develop to support students to step firmly into the future.
In reality, students of Social Sciences and Humanities do not lack job opportunities, but to make the most of them, they need to be more proactive in learning, practicing early and developing multi-skills. With support from schools and businesses, and with their own efforts, students can fully adapt and thrive in today's competitive labor market.
