Using artificial intelligence (AI) computing platforms to research and develop drugs . Chinese company MindRank, using artificial intelligence (AI), has developed a new drug for weight loss and treatment of type 2 diabetes. The drug, called MDR-001, stimulates the pancreas to secrete insulin, helping to reduce blood sugar levels and lose weight.

In June 2023, the first phase of clinical trials was successful, confirming the drug’s high efficacy and safety. With more than 537 million adults worldwide suffering from diabetes and about 650 million people suffering from obesity, developing an effective treatment would allow Chinese companies to join the race for a multi-billion dollar drug market.

Notably, thanks to the Molecule Pro computing platform and AI-based data center, MindRank was able to reduce the preclinical development time of the drug from 3 years to 19 months. These technologies also reduce costs and improve the quality of the developed products.

In experiments involving monkeys, the drug MDR-001 helped obese monkeys lose weight effectively and had absolutely no side effects after stopping the drug.

Simulation of the Chang'e 5 lander operating on the Moon.

Achievements in space exploration. The team responsible for China's Chang'e-5 lunar mission has received the highest award from the International Academy of Astronautics for its outstanding contributions to the exploration of the Moon and human spaceflight.

The Chang'e 5 project took place in November 2020, the ship landed on the Moon and took samples of soil and rocks back to Earth. In principle, this is one of the most difficult space explorations for China. For the first time since the Apollo project, lunar soil samples were returned to Earth.

In 2024, the Chang'e 6 spacecraft is expected to continue landing on another area of the Moon. The goal of the upcoming mission is to bring samples from the far side of the Moon back to Earth for the first time.

The elaborate structures built by sandworms.

New building material inspired by sandworms. Inspired by the underwater structures created by sandworms, Chinese scientists have found an alternative to traditional building materials. They discovered that the sticky substance secreted by the worms contains both positively and negatively charged amino acids, creating a very strong attraction.

Researchers have used biopolymers with opposite charges to link different particles and create a new building material.

Thanks to this, a material with high resistance to destruction and retaining mechanical properties when exposed to direct sunlight was created.

Additionally, it can be made from negatively charged particles of both desert and beach sand. The material can also be recycled multiple times, and its production time is 14 times shorter than that of concrete.

Robot assistants effectively support athletes during competition.

Robot sports assistants. One of the surprises at the Asian Games in Hangzhou was the special assistants - robot dogs. They monitor and analyze athletes' performance in real time, providing instant feedback and valuable advice to help them achieve their best results.

Athletes only need to give voice commands and the robot dog will provide them with the necessary information. With the help of LIDAR sensors and cameras, the electronic assistant can easily navigate and move in narrow spaces.

The built-in AI module analyzes the athlete's position and movement, while the high-performance battery ensures the robot operates continuously and stably throughout the competition.
