Giving Chol Chnam Thmay gifts to Khmer people

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province Nguyen Tiec Hung presented gifts to Khmer households in difficult circumstances.

Attending the event were Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province Nguyen Tiec Hung; First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Kingdom of Cambodia Nguyen The Khanh; and representatives of the Vietnam - Cambodia Business Association.

The delegation presented 500 gifts to Khmer households in difficult circumstances. Each gift was worth 600,000 VND, including 10 kg of rice and 300,000 VND in cash.

Also on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year 2024, the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, led by Mr. Nguyen Tiec Hung - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, visited, presented gifts and wished a happy New Year to monks and senior monks at some pagodas of Tri Ton district.

At the places visited, the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province hoped that the monks, venerable monks, venerable monks, Ta achar monks and Khmer people would continue to promote the spirit of great national unity, unite with the local government to successfully implement the goals of socio-economic development, ensure national defense, security, social order and safety, strive to compete in labor production, improve living standards, join hands and hearts to build the homeland of An Giang to become more and more prosperous and civilized.

The monks, the abbots, the monks, the Ta achars thanked the Party, the State, and the provincial leaders for their attention to the Khmer people in the past time. At the same time, they affirmed that the people always trust in the leadership of the Party and the State, continue to implement policies and laws, actively mobilize the whole people to unite to build a cultural life in residential areas, contributing to the development of their homeland.

This year, the Khmer people's Chol Chnam Thmay festival takes place from April 13-16, 2024. On this occasion, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province and local authorities organized many delegations to visit, wish a happy new year, and share joy with people at 66 Khmer pagodas throughout the province.
