Awarding ceremony of writing contest on school health

On September 26, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education and the Citizen and Promoting Education Magazine held the launching ceremony of the writing contest "Learning Family" and awarded prizes for the writing contest "School Health - For the quality of the country's human resources".

The writing contest "School health for the quality of the country's human resources" was launched from April 16, 2024 and the submission period ends on August 31, 2024.

During the implementation period, the Organizing Committee received many entries from all over the country. Most of the entries were from teachers, parents and students sharing creative ideas and effective solutions, contributing to proposing quality solutions to promote school health and effectively implement the Government's School Health Program.

The organizing committee selected 21 best works to enter the final round. The first prize of the contest went to the work “The importance of preschool health charts” by author Truong Thi Mai (former teacher of Montessori Sunrise Kidz preschool system).

Second Prize was awarded to two works: "Taking care of students like taking care of your own children" by author Nguyen Thi Mai Anh; "Students stay up all night studying at coffee shops - warning about bad trends affecting school health" by author Le Truong Vinh Khanh.

Third Prize was awarded to 3 works: "Preventing self-destructive behavior in students through social work activities" by author Tran Nguyen Phuoc Thong; "Understanding sex education in the school environment" by author Nguyen Le Thanh; "Rejuvenation of increasing diseases, urgent need to improve school health" by author Tran Van Tam.

The Encouragement Prize was awarded to 5 works: "I am a child of darkness?" by author Pham Manh Hao; "Focus on 7 groups of solutions for school health" by author Dang Ngoc Anh; "Lunch in kindergarten - the importance of school health" by author Ngoc Anh; "School nutrition, steps of love" by author Do Trang; "Discrimination against LGBT students reduces school health" by author Lam Minh Tri.

The Most Read Article Award was given to the work "School Nutrition, Steps of Love" by author Do Trang.

The collective prize with the most entries was awarded to Kim Ngoc Primary School, Vinh Yen, Vinh Phuc.

Speaking at the Closing and Award Ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President, President of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, acknowledged and highly appreciated the content of the contest, which accurately and diversely reflected practical issues related to school health. At the same time, she hoped that the contest could help the community understand and grasp information about school health more quickly; contributing quality solutions to effectively implement the Government's School Health Program.

At the ceremony, Citizen and Encouragement of Learning Magazine launched the “Family of Learning” Writing Contest. The contest aims to encourage people of all walks of life to discover and commend families that are currently striving to become “Families of Learning” according to three major and important criteria set by the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, including: Family learning results; family learning conditions and the effects of learning on the family. Thereby reflecting the beauty of the tradition of learning in families in our country.

The time for receiving entries starts from October 2, 2024 to May 1, 2025. The closing ceremony, awarding and commending the contest is expected to be held on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 2025).
