Blacka was unexpectedly mentioned by a young rapper in a rap attack. Afterwards, under pressure from the audience, the runner-up of Rap Viet season 2 responded with music.
In recent days, Vietnamese rap has been noisy again because of the music battles between rapper groups from the North and South. In the midst of the chaos, Blacka was suddenly mentioned in a song with rude words. Immediately after that, Blacka posted on social media the messages between him and the rapper who dissed him. The post of the Rap Viet runner-up attracted more than 1,000 comments.
In the battle between lesser-known rappers, Blacka suddenly became the center of attention. Many viewers rushed to the post to attack and urge to escalate the situation. They wanted Blacka to take action, specifically by releasing music. At the same time, the opponent made another provocative move towards Blacka. Then, Blacka decided to jump into the battle.
Blacka replied
From the beginning of the war between groups of young rappers, including the attacker of Blacka - Rocky CDE - Blacka was not involved. However, just one "unfortunate incident", the former contestant of Rap Viet season 2 was dragged into the war.
Then, a series of problems came to Blacka in the past 2 days. The male rapper could not stay silent. He released a series of old messages to prove that the rapper on the other side had asked him for help before the conflict occurred. On the contrary, the rapper attacking Blacka claimed that he had a lot of evidence and was ready to escalate the incident.
Immediately, Blacka became the hottest keyword in the Vietnamese rap world. As is the habit every time something "changes" in the rap world, the audience jumps in, some praise, some bash. Blacka was encouraged by a part of the audience to rush into the battle, like he did when he was still underground.
On the other hand, the audience dug up everything about Blacka in the past. Anti-fans, who had a grudge against Blacka before, took the opportunity to attack.
Then, when the heat reached its peak, Blacka decided to take a step back to compete with a lesser-known rapper. On the morning of February 25, Blacka released the song Gloves aimed directly at Rocky CDE. In the opening bars of the diss, Blacka writes: "You're the big boy among the little ones / The little boy among the old ones / Sometimes you're a little old fashioned / You're old, you refuse to fight / But you have to fight."
Wowy's student refuted Rocky CDE with arguments such as accusing his opponent of being ungrateful and asserting that he only cared about the increased account balance.
Starting out as a battle between young rappers, the beef is now unpredictable because Blacka's music could lead to a series of "drama" afterwards. Just after an hour of airing, the song rap diss Blacka's song is taking the Vietnamese rap world by storm.
Blacka's paradox
It is no coincidence that the audience, especially rap fans, pay special attention to Blacka when his name is mentioned in the battle. The rapper born in 1997 has been active for about 15 years in Rap Viet. From the early days, Blacka has been famous through fierce rap battles, even creating "legends" that are still discussed in Rap Viet to this day.
In 2021, Blacka participated in Rap Viet season 2, then became Wowy's contestant. Thanks to the Rap Viet milestone, Blacka's name spread beyond the underground. He was Wowy's "warhorse", easily going straight to the finals. Blacka lost to Seachains in the race for the championship, but in terms of potential to go further, Wowy's student is still rated higher.
After the game show, Blacka had a great launch pad for his career. The male rapper was also active, releasing a series of products in the past 3 years. However, the Rap Viet runner-up continuously failed in the "trending" Vietnamese music race. Then, when Rap Viet went on for 2 more seasons, many new rappers appeared, and Blacka's title as Rap Viet runner-up gradually faded into oblivion.
12 days ago, Blacka and Arthur released MV Want to be loved . The new product of the Rap Viet runner-up currently only attracts more than 16,000 listens/views on the YouTube platform. This number shows that the appeal of the name Blacka has almost hit rock bottom. The male rapper is willing to invest more than most of his peers, but the problem is still that his music lacks appeal.
Just with the incident of being mentioned by a junior and making music, the name Blacka created more "viral" than the previous 3 years combined.
Blacka was stuck between the musical personalities of underground rap and mainstream rap. In the Vietnamese rap world, many rappers are in the same situation as Blacka, when they have good skills and strong rap/hip hop personalities. But when they move up to the mainstream, they have to deal with many challenges beyond the scope of rap, these rappers are left behind in the market.
Blacka has changed a lot since entering the Rap Viet season 2 stage, but his musical personality is still purely underground. The audience said that they did not recognize Blacka in the series of products in the past 3 years, especially the MV released 12 days ago. However, when Blacka released diss music, the situation turned around and he was immediately supported by the audience.
