Sophisticated design
The Tour One M2’s first look is simple, with a choice of Black or Silver and a small JBL logo on each earcup. The most striking thing about the product is the glossy plastic that feels sophisticated. The headphones feel sturdy with a moderate amount of flex and plenty of adjustment buttons in the headband. The ear cups can rotate to fit any head size.
The carrying case makes it easy for users to carry the headphones when traveling.
The hard-shell carrying case that comes with the headphones feels sturdy and well-made. This lightweight, durable, and soft-padded case ensures your headphones stay secure when stored for long-distance travel. The padded leatherette cups create an almost suction-like seal around your ears, providing passive sound isolation and preventing wind noise from interrupting your listening experience.
Diverse features
Setup on these over-ear headphones is quick and easy, thanks to a slide switch on the right earcup that powers the headphones on and puts them into pairing mode, and from there, most tweaks can be made via the JBL Headphones app.
With JBL Headphones, users can adjust the adaptive noise cancellation, which uses four microphones to react to changes in external sounds. Users can control the level of isolation up or down in real time. While not industry-leading, the Tour One M2 's noise cancellation is quite good. The Ambient Aware transparent listening mode is also effective enough.
When using TalkThru mode , users can chat without removing the headphones, and it works as expected. Call reception is also quite perfect, with algorithms that eliminate most wind noise. Another feature is Smart Talk, which can turn off music when it hears voices.
Companion app for better control of headphone features
In terms of battery life, the Tour One M2 can last about 50 hours on a single charge, twice as long as its predecessor. However, this number drops to 30 hours when active noise cancellation is activated. Users are also advised to enable the auto power off function via the JBL Headphones app to ensure good battery life. Experience with the charging feature on the headphones shows that it takes 30 minutes to charge the battery from 0 - 80%.
The Tour One M2's dual-device connectivity allows users to quickly switch between music on their phone and laptop. It supports Bluetooth 5.3 and works with basic SBC and AAC codecs . This means users will need to look elsewhere if they want to enjoy high-resolution audio that supports aptX or LDAC.
Sound quality
Like many JBL headphones, the Tour One M2 sounds fairly balanced. Bass junkies may be a little disappointed by the low bass output. While the EQ can be adjusted via the JBL Headphones app, there are no presets to boost the bass.
The overall sound quality provides a pretty good experience.
On the other hand, headphones provide sharp treble, wide soundstage and immersion when increasing the volume, which helps the sound to be transmitted with high precision. With headphones, the vocal quality becomes clearer.
Spatial Audio is another interesting audio feature that users get in the Tour One M2, with a more immersive listening experience. Although it is not a gaming headset, thanks to Spatial Audio , the audio experience in games will be more vivid.
In the Vietnamese market, JBL Tour One M2 is currently priced at 6.99 million VND and will be available for sale from August 20.
