The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced the admission scores for grade 10 of public high schools for the 2024-2025 school year.

Previously, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced the admission scores for specialized and integrated grade 10. Up to now, schools have completed receiving admission applications for specialized and integrated grade 10.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, 98,681 candidates registered for this year's 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City. The candidates completed the exam on June 6 and 7 and learned their exam scores on June 19.
According to statistics on the 10th grade entrance exam scores in 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City, foreign language is the subject with the best score among the three exam subjects, with 1,707 candidates scoring 10; 14,732 candidates scoring from 9 - 9.75.
In math, the most controversial subject of the recent exam with many opinions saying the test was long and difficult, 49 candidates got a score of 10.
Although literature does not have a 10, the number of exams with below average scores is the lowest of the three subjects.
Admission scores for grade 10 are calculated as follows:
Admission score = Literature exam score + Foreign language exam score + Math exam score + priority and incentive points (if any).
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training only considers candidates who are eligible to take the entrance exam, have taken all required exams, have not violated entrance exam regulations, and have not scored zero on any exam.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that after the department announced the benchmark scores for regular grade 10 and the list of candidates admitted to grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year, from July 4 to August 1, 2024, candidates admitted to regular grade 10 will submit their admission applications to the high school they were admitted to.
If the candidate does not submit the application for admission, the school will remove his/her name from the admission list.
After high schools receive applications for grade 10 admission, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will review the situation and decide on the second round of additional recruitment.
The specific admission scores for specialized and integrated grade 10 in the 2024-2025 school year in Ho Chi Minh City are as follows:
Previously, according to the original plan, the 10th grade benchmark scores were to be announced on July 10. However, because the exam results and re-examinations of candidates were completed by the marking council earlier than expected, the benchmark scores were announced 1 week earlier.
After announcing the admission scores for grade 10 of public high schools, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will hold a meeting with 22 heads of education and training departments (including the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City and 21 districts), principals of public high schools on instructions for submitting applications for grade 10 admission for the 2024-2025 school year.
On the candidates' side, after knowing the 10th grade benchmark scores and the list of successful candidates to public high schools, from July 4 to 4:00 p.m. on August 1, successful candidates submit their admission applications to the schools they have been admitted to.
If the candidate does not submit the application for admission, the school will remove the name from the admission list. High schools do not accept candidates outside the admission list.
After high schools receive applications for grade 10 admission, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will review the situation and decide on the second round of additional recruitment.
This year, the entrance exam for public grade 10 will take place on June 6 and 7. The whole city has more than 98,000 candidates registered for the exam. The total enrollment quota for 113 public high schools in the area is 77,350.
Based on the enrollment quota, the number of candidates registering for their wishes and the total score of the three exams of the candidates, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will review and announce the benchmark scores of each school according to the principle that the benchmark score of wish 2 is not lower than the benchmark score of wish 1 and the benchmark score of wish 3 is not lower than the benchmark score of wish 2.
The list of successful candidates will be based on the 3 wishes registered by the candidates in order of priority from wish 1 to wish 2 and wish 3.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School (Tan Binh District) leads the list of admission scores with 25.5 points (first choice). Next is Gia Dinh High School (Binh Thanh District) with 24.5 points and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (District 3) with 24.25 points.
