Ho Chi Minh City: Restricting teachers from going abroad in June

Every year, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City mobilizes about 11,000 cadres, teachers and employees to participate in the exam work.

The Ho Chi Minh City Departmentof Education and Training has just implemented regulations on strengthening management and approval responsibilities for teachers going abroad to high schools and affiliated educational units during important exams.

Accordingly, to ensure stability in human resources for the organization of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year, the 2025 high school graduation exam and other work related to enrollment taking place in the summer of the 2024-2025 school year, the Department of Education and Training recommends that schools minimize the processing of applications for permission for officials and employees who are teachers and staff of the unit to go abroad during the time of the exams as prescribed, especially in June 2025; except for special cases.

According to regulations, in June, the 10th grade entrance exam will take place on June 6-7 and the high school graduation exam will take place on June 26-27. For each exam, every year the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training mobilizes about 11,000 officials, teachers, and employees to participate in the exam.

School principals are responsible to the Director of the Department of Education and Training for granting permission for civil servants and employees to go abroad. The official dispatch requesting permission for civil servants and employees of the unit to go abroad sent to the Department must have complete documents and ensure the time according to regulations. Note that the number of days of leave for personal reasons abroad must not exceed the number of days of leave allowed in the year.

At the same time, schools must disseminate and thoroughly understand to all officers and employees of the unit the regulations on management and approval of overseas travel; must strictly comply when summoned for work related to the 10th grade entrance exams and high school graduation exams (if any) by competent authorities.
