Total import and export value of the whole country reached 75.39 billion USD

According to information from the Customs Department (Ministry of Finance), the total value of import and export of goods in March 2025 nationwide reached 75.39 billion USD, an increase of 18.2% (equivalent to an increase of 11.62 billion USD) compared to the previous month.

Of which, export value reached 38.51 billion USD, up 23.8% (equivalent to an increase of 7.4 billion USD) and import value reached 36.88 billion USD, up 12.9% (equivalent to an increase of 4.22 billion USD).

The total import-export value of the whole country from January 1 to March 15, 2025 reached 162.78 billion USD, an increase of 12%, equivalent to an increase of 17.46 billion USD compared to the same period in 2024. Of which, exports reached 82.29 billion USD, an increase of 9.1% (equivalent to an increase of 6.85 billion USD) and imports reached 80.49 billion USD, an increase of 15.2% (equivalent to an increase of 10.61 billion USD). Accumulated to the end of March 15, the whole country had a trade surplus of 1.81 billion USD.

Regarding the state budget revenue situation, the state budget revenue from import-export activities in March 2025 reached VND 36,098 billion, an increase of 4.6% (equivalent to an increase of VND 1,574 billion) compared to the previous month. The total state budget revenue in the first 3 months of 2025 reached VND 98,495 billion, equal to 24% of the assigned estimate (VND 411,000 billion), equal to 21% of the target (VND 470,000 billion), an increase of 9.7% (equivalent to an increase of VND 8,712 billion) compared to the same period in 2024.

In the first quarter of 2025, the situation of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and illegal transportation of goods is very complicated, especially during the Lunar New Year, when the demand for consumer goods, food, and beverages increases, and subjects increase the frequency of activities to make illegal profits, causing price instability, poor quality of goods, affecting the health of consumers...

Faced with the above situation, the Customs has coordinated with functional forces to simultaneously implement the Peak Plan to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025. Issued a document instructing and warning the entire industry: The situation of drugs drifting at sea; preventing illegal trading and transportation of pigs, meat and bone meal products, animal protein across the border into Vietnam...

Results: From December 15, 2024 to March 14, 2025, the Customs sector detected, arrested and handled: 3,876 cases (an increase of 11% over the same period in 2024); the value of infringing goods is estimated at VND 8,464.6 billion; the Customs authority transferred 22 cases for prosecution (a decrease of 26.7% over the same period in 2024); State budget revenue: VND 281.3 billion.

In the fight against drugs, from December 16, 2024 to March 15, 2025, the Customs agency presided over and coordinated with the Police and Border Guard forces to detect and arrest: 48 cases/47 subjects, of which the Customs agency presided over 17 cases. Evidence seized: 202kg of various drugs (401.7 grams of opium; 33.98 kg of marijuana; 11.09 kg of heroin; 13 kg of ketamine; 141.63 kg of synthetic drugs; 2.005 kg and 60,000 pills of other drugs).
