Summary and award ceremony of two contests on union members and trade unions in Quang Tri

This afternoon, August 6, the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor (FLD) coordinated with the Labor and Trade Union Magazine and the Provincial Journalists Association to summarize and award the writing contest "Workers and Trade Unions of Quang Tri" and the music video clip contest "Proud of Quang Tri Trade Union Members" in 2024. Launched in early April 2024, the writing contest “Workers and Trade Unions of Quang Tri” attracted the participation of a large number of union members, workers, officials, reporters, and press collaborators. After the launch, the contest organizers received 173 entries from 152 authors and groups of authors.

According to the records, the works closely followed the theme and rules of the contest, had rich and diverse content, comprehensively reflecting the workers' movement and trade union activities in Quang Tri. In particular, many articles deeply explored good models and effective ways of doing trade union activities. Each work is also a real, everyday story, vividly reflecting the efforts to improve in life and work of union members and workers.

Some articles have explored issues of concern to many union members and workers. Through a serious working process, the organizing committee and the jury of the contest unanimously selected and awarded 22 prizes to outstanding works.

Also a meaningful and practical activity to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union, the music video clip contest "Proud of Quang Tri Trade Union Members" took place on the Quang Tri Trade Union Facebook page for 4 weeks, from June 3 to 28, 2024. The contest received 385 entries.

At the local level, the Labor Federations of districts, towns, cities, and industry unions conducted a preliminary round and selected 110 works to send to the provincial competition organizing committee for the final round. With high consensus, the organizing committee decided to award 24 prizes to good video clips that left many impressions.

According to the record, the works participating in the music video clip contest "Proud of Quang Tri Trade Union Members" are rich in genre with many good songs praising the love of homeland, country, trade union organization... Many works have new and creative ideas, carefully invested in both form and content.

At the closing and award ceremony, the organizing committee awarded 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 6 third prizes and 10 consolation prizes to authors and groups of authors with excellent works participating in the writing contest "Workers and Trade Unions of Quang Tri". The work "Kind negotiations" by author Khanh Linh and the work "Awakening the regime for workers after many years of slumber" by the group of authors: Thien Son - Tran Diem - Ly Na were honored to be awarded the first prize. Regarding the music video clip contest "Proud of the Trade Union Members of Quang Tri", the organizing committee awarded 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, 5 third prizes and 15 consolation prizes to excellent video clips. The video clip "I am a teacher in the highlands" by the trade unions of the Dakrong commune cluster, Dakrong district won the first prize.

In recognition of the efforts that contributed to the success of the contest, the leaders of the Provincial Federation of Labor awarded 3 collective prizes to 3 trade unions directly above the grassroots level for directing and implementing the video clip contest "Proud of Quang Tri Trade Union Members" well and having many quality entries. The Executive Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor also awarded a certificate of merit to teacher Tran Minh Hai, a member of the grassroots trade union of Thanh Secondary School, Huong Hoa District, for composing a new and meaningful song about trade union organizations.
