The delegation included Politburo members: Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia; General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security. Also attending were: Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Nguyen Duy Ngoc; members of the Party Central Committee, leaders of a number of ministries, departments, branches and central agencies, and representatives of the functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense.

Implementing Resolution No. 05 of the Politburo on the organization of the Vietnam People's Army for the 2021-2030 period and the following years, the Ministry of National Defense recently decided to dissolve the 3rd and 4th Corps - Establish the 34th Corps.

Visiting and working with officers and soldiers of the 34th Corps, General Secretary To Lam acknowledged and commended the very encouraging initial achievements, which will be an important premise for officers and soldiers of the Corps to build a glorious tradition in the new period.

To well perform the tasks in the coming time, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that it is necessary to regularly thoroughly grasp and grasp the Party's viewpoints, guidelines, and policies, the State's policies and laws on military, national defense, and national protection; focusing on the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee, 13th tenure on the Strategy for National Protection in the new situation.

The 34th Corps focuses on doing a good job of political and ideological education and the glorious revolutionary traditions of the nation, the Army, and the 3rd and 4th Corps.

At the same time, we must build cadres and soldiers who always have a steadfast and firm political stance, a deep understanding of the situation and tasks, constantly uphold revolutionary heroism, and be honored and proud to be cadres and soldiers of the "elite, compact, and strong" Corps, regardless of difficulties and hardships, ready to receive and successfully complete all assigned tasks.

The General Secretary suggested actively and urgently reviewing and promptly coordinating closely with localities and units to promptly complete combat readiness plans, regional defense operations, and civil defense, while maintaining strict implementation of combat readiness regimes, ensuring that we are not passive or surprised, and are ready to successfully handle all situations.

The General Secretary requested to focus on training and fostering cadres and organizing army training in accordance with the established guidelines and directions; focusing on training to master new and modern weapons and equipment.

Develop plans and organize training for forces participating in parades and marches to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, and coordinate to protect and ensure the safety of targets and political events in 2025.

Strictly maintain the order of regular construction, discipline management, build a "lean, compact, strong" Corps to advance towards modernity, with comprehensive strength and high combat readiness, well meeting the requirements of the mission as the strategic mobile force of the Vietnam People's Army.

The 34th Corps continues to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement Directive 35 of the Politburo on Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party; focus on preparing and successfully organizing Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, ensuring true democracy, solidarity and unity. The General Secretary emphasized that it is necessary to regularly take care of improving the material and spiritual life of soldiers; it is necessary to have the best possible solutions to help soldiers have an increasingly better life, thereby making soldiers feel secure, attached to their units and wholeheartedly serving the Army and the revolution.

The General Secretary requested that the 34th Army Corps proactively prepare well, ensuring that officers and soldiers celebrate the Lunar New Year of At Ty - 2025 "joyfully, healthily, economically, and with high combat readiness," focusing on the forces on duty, officers and soldiers in difficult areas, remote areas.

The Corps actively and closely coordinates with local Party committees, authorities, organizations, armed forces and friendly units to organize the military-civilian Tet; supports, helps and organizes for people to celebrate the Lunar New Year in a warm, joyful, safe and economical manner.

From the heroic and glorious tradition of the predecessor units, with new spirit and determination, the General Secretary believes that the officers and soldiers of the 34th Corps will unite, move forward, and successfully complete all assigned tasks, worthy of the trust and love of the Party, State, and people; he requested that the central ministries, branches, and localities where the 34th Corps is stationed continue to pay attention, support, coordinate, and create conditions for the 34th Corps to successfully complete all assigned tasks.

Building a strong, "exemplary, typical" 15th Army Corps

Continuing the working program in Gia Lai, on the afternoon of January 6, General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission and the Central Working Delegation visited and worked at Army Corps 15.

Located in the Central Highlands, Army Corps 15 is one of the first economic-defense unit models in the strategic area, together with the armed forces building a solid defense area and effectively participating in the innovation process, improving economic, cultural and social life.

The General Secretary emphasized that with the characteristics of a large area, a long border, and frequent sabotage by hostile forces, the 15th Army Corps needs to thoroughly grasp the Party's military and defense viewpoints and guidelines; firmly grasp the strategy to protect the Fatherland in the new situation, especially the major orientations on military and defense work determined by the 13th National Party Congress and Resolution No. 23 dated October 6, 2022 of the Politburo on the direction of socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Central Highlands region until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

The General Secretary requested that the 15th Corps continue to perform well the three functions of the Army (as a combat army, a working army, and a production labor army) in the new period. The General Secretary suggested focusing on building a strong, "exemplary, typical" Corps, absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the Party, the State and the people, taking human development as the center and decisive step; attaching importance to and regularly innovating and improving the quality and effectiveness of political and ideological education; effectively fighting against the wrong and reactionary views of hostile forces, firmly protecting the Party's ideological foundation.

The 15th Corps needs to lead and direct more effectively the military and defense tasks associated with the socio-economic development tasks in the new situation; continue to promote and improve the quality of mass mobilization, twinning, and social security work, helping people develop the economy, culture, society, and prevent and combat natural disasters and epidemics; pay attention to implementing well the Army's policies and the Army's rear.
