General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong receives Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China

On the morning of September 5, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received comrade Liu Jianchao, member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the External Relations Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

At the meeting, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong welcomed Comrade Liu Jianchao's visit to Vietnam in the context of the relationship between the two Parties and countries maintaining a good development momentum and making many substantive advances, especially when the two countries are jointly celebrating the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership (June 2008 - June 2023).

Highlighting the tradition of friendship and mutual support between the two Parties, two countries and peoples, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong asked Comrade Liu Jianchao to convey his best regards and congratulations to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his appreciation for the Chinese people's support for Vietnam's revolutionary cause and the cause of building socialism and developing the country over the years, as well as the sentiments, attention and especially important contributions of senior Chinese leaders, directly General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, to the development of Vietnam-China relations over the past years.

Recalling the good memories, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the warm and thoughtful reception of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, the Party, State and people of China during his official visit to China after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong highly appreciated the proactive and active actions of the sectors and levels of both sides in implementing the common perception between the two Parties' top leaders and the Vietnam-China Joint Statement during the visit, contributing to further strengthening and deepening the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership in the new period. Regarding his recent visit and work in Lang Son province and the Friendship International Border Gate, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized that he always attaches importance to and gives top priority to developing Vietnam-China relations.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong acknowledged and suggested that the two Central External Relations Commissions continue to closely coordinate, effectively promote the mechanism of the Annual Meeting between the two Heads of the Central External Relations Commissions, promote cooperation between the advisory bodies of the two Parties, enhance the strategic orientation role of the relationship between the two Parties for the overall relationship between the two countries, through practical actions to concretize the Joint Statement reached during the recent official visit to China, thereby bringing the traditional friendly cooperation between the two Parties and the two countries to a new height.

Comrade Liu Jianchao expressed his joy at visiting Vietnam and sincerely thanked General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong for taking the time to receive the delegation; expressed his high agreement and will accept the important orientations of the General Secretary on strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two Parties and the two countries.

Comrade Liu Jianchao congratulated the socio-economic achievements that the Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, have achieved in the cause of Doi Moi and since the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam up to now; expressed his joy at the positive development trend of the Vietnam - China relationship under the guidance of the top leaders of the two Parties, especially the historical significance and great success of the official visit to China at the end of 2022 by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Comrade Liu Jianchao expressed his confidence in the bright future of the development of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in the coming time under the leadership of the Communist Party of China headed by Comrade Xi Jinping and the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, and was moved and appreciated the sentiments and support of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong for the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries. Chinese departments and agencies have developed a master plan to implement common perceptions and high-level agreements to bring the relationship between the two Parties and two countries to a new height.

Comrade Liu Jianchao affirmed that the Central External Relations Commission of the Communist Party of China will continue to closely coordinate with the Central External Relations Commission and Vietnam's foreign affairs and diplomatic agencies to thoroughly grasp and implement the common perceptions and important agreements between the two General Secretaries, and promote the strategic advisory role of the annual meeting mechanism between the two Heads of the Central External Relations Commission in promptly proposing to the Central Committees of the two Parties directions for strengthening cooperation between the two Parties and the two countries in the new situation.

On the same morning, Party Central Committee member and Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung held talks with Comrade Liu Jianchao, Party Central Committee member and Head of the External Relations Commission of the Communist Party of China. At the talks, the two sides focused on reviewing and assessing the progress in Vietnam-China relations since the historic visit to China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in October 2022, and discussed the direction for implementing exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties and the two countries in the coming time. At the end of the meeting, Comrade Le Hoai Trung presented Comrade Liu Jianchao and all members of the delegation of the Communist Party of China's Central External Relations Commission with the book "Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
