As of August, the whole province had 136/196 communes meeting the New Rural Standards; 19 communes were recognized as meeting the Advanced New Rural Standards (an increase of 5 communes compared to 2023); 3 communes meeting the Model New Rural Standards; 1,642 new rural residential areas; 140 model new rural residential areas (an increase of 11 areas compared to 2023).

The whole province has 6 district-level units recognized as meeting the standards/completing the task of building new rural areas. Of which, Lam Thao, Thanh Thuy, Thanh Ba, Tam Nong districts have met the New Rural Standards; Viet Tri city and Phu Tho town have completed the task of building new rural areas.
Currently, the average criteria for new rural construction is 17.2 criteria/commune. It is estimated that by the end of 2024, the whole province will have 141/196 communes meeting the New Rural Standards; 22 communes meeting the Advanced New Rural Standards; 1,700 residential areas meeting the New Rural Standards; 165 model New Rural Residential Areas.
At this time, Yen Ky commune, Ha Hoa district is carrying out the appraisal and submission for recognition of meeting the New Rural Standards. At the same time, Phu Ninh district is speeding up the implementation of criteria and targets, and is expected to basically complete the dossier to request recognition of Phu Ninh district meeting the New Rural Standards by the end of 2024 and submit it to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
