Unifying the content of the thematic and regular sessions of the City People's Council

Attending the conference were comrades: Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan; members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee: Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Nguyen Lan Huong, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha; leaders of agencies, departments, branches and sectors.

It is expected that the thematic session (22nd session) of the City People's Council will be held on April 29, 2025; the regular mid-year session of the City People's Council will be held during the week from July 1 to July 4, 2025. Of which, the thematic session is expected to propose more than 20 contents by the City People's Committee; the regular mid-year session in 2025 is expected to propose more than 50 contents by the City People's Committee (including 24 contents on implementing and enforcing the Capital Law in 2024).

It is expected that the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city will organize social criticism on 3 contents of the thematic meeting, including: Project on exploiting land fund in the vicinity of Ring Road 4 - Hanoi Capital Region to create capital for developing road traffic infrastructure assets; draft Resolution stipulating policies for scientific research activities and application of scientific and technological advances; draft Resolution stipulating policies to support the development of key areas of science and technology in the capital.

Speaking at the conference, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Nguyen Lan Huong affirmed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city always accompanies in organizing meetings through collecting public feedback. She suggested that in the coming time, departments and branches should coordinate and provide documents so that the Vietnam Fatherland Front can perform its role and functions well.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh emphasized that in the context of many changes, Hanoi is focusing on achieving the growth target of 8% or more. Therefore, he requested departments and branches to focus on implementing urgently to achieve the growth target, removing difficulties to attract investors.

Comrade Tran Sy Thanh also said that, regarding the 2024 Capital Law, for any issues that are clear, the People's Committee will submit them to the City People's Council for approval, and for any issues that need caution, the steps will be fully prepared for approval at the next session.

"The most important thing of this thematic meeting is to serve growth of over 8% by 2025 and to implement the spirit of a two-level government," emphasized comrade Tran Sy Thanh.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan assessed that the conference was held to effectively implement the coordination regulations.

The conference agreed on the time of the thematic session, including important content on administrative unit arrangement; at the same time, considered the contents for the mid-year meeting. However, to ensure compliance with the work progress, it is expected that the City People's Council will select some important contents to prepare for the mid-year meeting to consider and decide at a previous thematic session, to ensure compliance with the implementation time.

To ensure the effectiveness and quality of the meetings, the Chairman of the City People's Council requested that agencies and units continue to review the contents of the meetings to ensure strictness in order to create conditions for the economic growth target.
