Entering 2025, Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) aims to consume 50 million tons of coal and produce 36.85 million tons of coal. At this time, TKV units are promoting production competition, determined to conquer the goal of "Safety - Solidarity - Development - Efficiency".
Mao Khe Coal Company is one of the underground coal mining units with output of TKV. Overcoming the difficulties of 2024, Mao Khe Coal has fully completed its production and business targets. In particular, the unit has exploited more than 2.4 million tons of coal; consumed over 2.2 million tons; revenue reached more than 3,000 billion VND; average salary of workers reached 19.8 million VND/person/month. The positive production and business results create momentum for the Company to set high goals in the new coal season. In particular, in 2025, strive to exploit 2.5 million tons (the highest coal output in the past 5 years), consume more than 2.4 million tons; revenue of more than 3,600 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, Director of Mao Khe Coal Company, said: To successfully achieve the new year's goals, the Company is launching many labor emulation movements. Right from the first days and months of the new year, workshops and production teams have focused on managing safety work well and improving the working environment for workers. At the same time, proactively implementing reasonable production solutions to ensure a safe working environment in production lines. Currently, the unit is coordinating with the contractor to speed up the project of exploiting under -150 Mao Khe coal mine to ensure progress and quality of the project. This project will create a production area, increase the mine's capacity for long-term development of the unit. This year, the Company will continue to strengthen mechanization, computerization, and digitalization in production and management to improve work efficiency and care for the lives and income of workers.
Entering 2024, the general context of TKV units is facing many intertwined opportunities and challenges. Providing enough coal for Vietnam Electricity Group's power plants is a challenge and great pressure for TKV in the context of domestic coal production decreasing compared to recent years; some thermal power plants receive unstable coal. Meanwhile, geological mining conditions appear to have many disadvantages, reducing coal production compared to projects and plans; obstacles in licensing exploration and exploitation; difficult recruitment of miners. Along with the unusual weather changes, especially storm No. 3, causing many difficulties for production, causing heavy damage to TKV's coal production units.
However, with the spirit of "Discipline and Unity", the Group has tried and made efforts to overcome difficulties, quickly overcome the consequences of Typhoon Yagi, soon stabilized production and business; joined hands with localities to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, especially in Quang Ninh province. Thanks to this effort, TKV has basically completed the main targets of the production and business plan for 2024. Specifically, coal production reached about 36.7 million tons; coal consumption reached more than 46.7 million tons, of which coal for electricity production alone was 39.4 million tons.
Entering 2025 with the goal of "Safety - Solidarity - Development - Efficiency", TKV strives to consume 50 million tons of coal; produce 36.85 million tons of clean coal. It is expected that TKV will import 13.2 million tons of coal; excavate more than 153 million m3 of earth and rock; dig a total of more than 264,000m of tunnels; and earn the Group's total revenue of more than 172,000 billion VND...
With relatively favorable weather conditions for coal mining activities, in January 2025, TKV strives to produce 2.9 million tons of raw coal; consume 4.3 million tons of coal; and excavate 10.35 million m3 of stripped soil. Currently, the prepared furnaces are ready to mobilize coal output from the beginning of the year to ensure the completion of the coal mining plan. Along with that, TKV has arranged and rearranged the production area of concentrated units, facilitating transportation, material transportation, production direction, increasing labor productivity; building flexible operating plans and implementing them in accordance with the actual conditions at each time.
Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, General Director of TKV, said: At this time, coal production and consumption units need to take advantage of favorable weather to focus on boosting production, striving to achieve over 52% of the annual plan in the first 6 months of the year. In particular, to meet the coal demand of the market, TKV is focusing on finding customers, expanding the coal import and export market, promoting coal imports from Laos, and maximizing imported coal output on the basis of well-prepared conditions for warehousing, transportation, and blending.
Units will improve the effectiveness of mechanization in all production stages to increase labor productivity, safety coefficients, improve working conditions and income for workers. In addition, strengthen protection, inspection and supervision of coal production, transportation and consumption processes, ensure environmental work, safety, security and order in the production process, and complete planned targets and tasks.
