To contribute to the province's successful implementation of the economic growth target of 14% in 2025, since the beginning of the year, Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) has implemented many solutions to promote production and business.

The Coal Industry, with a focus on TKV, contributes about 1/4 of the GRDP and nearly 40% of the province's domestic revenue budget; creates regular jobs for about 80,000 workers; directly impacts nearly 1/3 of the population and is deeply attached to all aspects of the province's social life. In fact, at each stage, despite difficulties and challenges, TKV has strived to overcome and complete its production and business goals. The clearest evidence in 2024 is that TKV faced many difficulties, such as unfavorable geological conditions that reduced coal output compared to the plan and risks, especially labor safety; unusual weather, early heavy rains, especially storm No. 3 (Yagi) caused TKV units to lose about 1,000 billion VND.

However, TKV has made efforts to overcome difficulties and achieved impressive growth. In 2024, TKV's clean coal production reached 38.1 million tons, equal to 101% of the annual plan; coal consumption reached 46.7 million tons, equal to 100% of the plan; state budget contribution reached 25.5 trillion VND, of which budget contribution in Quang Ninh is estimated at 17.6 trillion VND, equal to 111% of the annual plan. The average income of workers in the coal production sector reached 18.7 million VND/person/month...

Entering 2025, Ha Long Coal Company strives to maintain effective production and business, while ensuring the progress of the Khe Cham II/IV underground mining project. This year, the unit strives to achieve an output of 2 million tons of coal, an increase of nearly 100,000 tons of coal compared to 2024. To achieve this goal, from the beginning of 2025, the Company focuses on urging units to closely follow the assigned plan, focus on implementing labor safety work, strengthen strict control of technological indicators, basic construction furnace meter indicators, production preparation furnace meter meters, implement synchronous solutions to reduce the rate of resource loss according to technology; perfect management regulations; have a mechanism to motivate workers to produce productively, safely and effectively. By the end of January 2025, the Company produced more than 146,000 tons of coal. By February 2025, the Company strives to reach over 168,000 tons and consume over 165,000 tons.

Determining that the first quarter of 2025 coincides with many holidays and Tet, the number of working days is less than other quarters, so right after the Lunar New Year holiday, the Company mobilized maximum human resources and machinery to immediately start production at the beginning of the year with a high labor rate. Along with that, Ha Long Coal Company is focusing on constructing 2 main and auxiliary vertical well towers of the Khe Cham II/IV underground mining project. It is expected that by mid-March 2025, the construction and installation of the auxiliary well tower will be put into operation first. When the above construction items are completed, the travel time to the workplace of workers will be shortened. At the same time, the construction progress of the Khe Cham II/IV project will be accelerated as planned. This is a mine built according to the criteria of "Modern mine - Safe mine - Clean mine - Few people mine - High productivity mine". When Khe Cham II/IV mine reaches its designed capacity of 3.5 million tons of underground coal/year, Ha Long Coal Company will become the leading unit in underground coal mining output of TKV.

Quang Ninh province has identified the theme of the year as “Breakthrough in economic development, creating momentum for the new term”. To continue affirming its role as a pillar in the economy, in 2025, TKV aims to pay the state budget VND 25,500 billion; consume 50 million tons of coal, and produce 36.85 million tons of coal.

Since the beginning of the year, coal production units in the Group have focused on human resources to accelerate production, meeting coal consumption demand. In January 2025 alone, TKV exploited 2.95 million tons of coal and consumed 3.69 million tons. Completing the basic targets according to the operating plan, TKV's total revenue in January reached 12,227 billion VND. TKV also focused on increasing imports, blending, meeting consumption, especially coal for electricity production; promptly and closely implementing storm prevention work, ensuring safety and smooth production activities; building a plan for staffing structure to serve the work of streamlining the apparatus, improving operational efficiency and income for workers.

Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, General Director of TKV Group, said: In order to contribute to the economic growth of localities where TKV enterprises are operating, TKV continues to make efforts and strive to exceed the production and business plan for 2025. The Group promotes production, increases imported coal output, improves coal blending efficiency to ensure supply to customers, especially thermal power plants; applies science and technology in production; coordinates with units in Quang Ninh province to promote the use of mine waste as filling materials for projects. Along with that, continue to preserve and promote the good cultural values of mine workers, the coal industry and the province, pay attention to social welfare and security, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 15th Quang Ninh Provincial Party Congress.
