On the morning of July 17, in Buon Ma Thuot City, the Central Red Journey Organizing Committee coordinated with the Dak Lak Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee to organize the "Central Highlands Red Drops" Blood Donation Festival within the framework of the Red Journey 2023.
Pursuant to Instruction No. 32/HD-BCDQG dated March 17, 2023 of the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation on the implementation of the Campaign "Red Blood Drops - Summer 2023" and the Red Journey Program 2023; Official Dispatch No. 219/HHTM dated March 7, 2023 of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion on coordinating the organization of the 11th Red Journey in 2023. This year, the cross-country blood donation campaign has the participation of 48 provinces and cities, and Dak Lak province is the 10th time.

According to Dr. Tran Ngoc Que, Director of the National Blood Center and Deputy Head of the Central Red Journey Organizing Committee, before the event in Dak Lak province, the Red Journey had taken place in 34 provinces and cities, receiving more than 25,000 units of blood at the main festivals and tens of thousands of units of blood at the blood donation days in response to the Red Journey.

“With many years of experience in organizing, along with the attention and support of the provincial leaders, the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, the Department of Health, the Provincial Red Cross Society and most of all, the noble act of blood donation of the people of Dak Lak province, the organizing committee hopes that the program “Central Highlands Red Drops” will continue to spread strongly to all provinces and cities across the country,” said Dr. Tran Ngoc Que.

Speaking at the blood donation festival this morning, comrade H'Yim Kđoh, Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, said that in recent years, the province's voluntary blood donation program has become a regular activity, receiving attention from all levels, departments and branches, and has been widely responded to and effectively implemented by the people.

In the 9 years of organizing the Red Journey Program since 2013, up to now, Dak Lak province has received nearly 30,000 units of blood, with thousands of volunteers participating. The program is organized for the 10th time with the goal of receiving 500 units of blood; at the same time, mobilizing at least 100 volunteers to participate in propagating to the younger generations about congenital hemolytic anemia (Thalassemia) - how to recognize and prevent it.
On behalf of the leaders of Dak Lak province, comrade H'Yim Kđoh thanked the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, the National Blood Center, the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion for their attention and support in organizing the Blood Donation Festival "Central Highlands Red Drops" and especially the individuals and groups that donated blood in response to the Red Journey.

Mr. Vu Thanh Phong, who is working at Tay Nguyen Eye Hospital, shared: “I feel honored and proud to donate blood today. I hope that the amount of blood I donate will contribute a small part to help patients or those in need of blood!”
At the end of the "Central Highlands Red Drops" Blood Donation Festival in Dak Lak province, the organizing committee received 806 units of blood.
