Updated: March 25, 2025 |
The price of live pigs in the Northern region on the afternoon of March 25, 2025 continued to decrease compared to the morning of the same day. Specifically, localities such as Hanoi, Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Thanh Hoa, Vinh Phuc, Tuyen Quang and Thai Nguyen all recorded a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg, bringing the price of live pigs to fluctuate between 71,000 - 72,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, Phu Tho, Yen Bai and Ninh Binh also decreased by 1,000 VND/kg but the price has reached 71,000 VND/kg, no longer fluctuating at a higher level. Notably, Lao Cai and Nghe An are the two provinces that suffered the sharpest decrease, losing 2,000 VND/kg, causing the price of live pigs here to drop to the lowest level in the country, only 70,000 VND/kg.
This downward trend may reflect an abundant supply of live pigs or a decrease in demand, putting pressure on the livestock market in the region. If this situation persists, farmers may face many difficulties in maintaining profits.

Some localities such as Dak Lak, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh all decreased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to the morning, bringing the price to 70,000 - 74,000 VND/kg.

Localities such as Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Quang Nam keep prices stable, showing that the sideways trend is dominant in this region.
In general, the pig market in the Central Highlands is showing signs of slowing down, possibly due to stable supply or lack of sudden changes in consumption demand, causing prices to not fluctuate much.

The price of live pigs in the Southern region on the afternoon of March 25, 2025 continued to maintain its highest position in the country, with prices ranging from 76,000 to 78,000 VND/kg, but the downward trend has become clear. Some localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Long An, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu and Ben Tre all recorded a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg, bringing the price to 76,000 - 77,000 VND/kg.
Notably, Soc Trang had the sharpest decrease of VND2,000/kg, bringing the price of live pigs here down to VND77,000/kg. Meanwhile, provinces such as Vinh Long, An Giang, Can Tho, Tien Giang and Ca Mau kept prices stable at a high level of VND78,000/kg, continuing to be the areas with the highest price of live pigs in the country. Other localities such as Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Thap, Kien Giang and Tra Vinh did not record any changes in prices.
Overall, although the South is still leading in terms of live hog prices, downward pressure on prices is increasing, possibly due to abundant supply or reduced demand, signaling a period of price adjustment in the coming time.
Pig price forecast for tomorrow, March 26, 2025, the trend continues to decrease
The forecast for live hog prices on March 26, 2025 shows that the market is continuing to show a slight downward trend. The supply of live hogs is abundant, especially in the North and Central regions, where many large farms are pushing up sales before the upcoming Hung Kings Commemoration Day holiday. This has created downward pressure on prices in the market.
In the North, the price of live pigs currently ranges from 71,000 to 73,000 VND/kg, with some localities such as Lao Cai, Ha Nam and Ninh Binh recording a price of 71,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, in the South, the price of live pigs is trading between 76,000 and 78,000 VND/kg, with a slight downward trend in provinces such as Dong Nai and Long An.
Purchasing power in the market remains weak, and pork prices in traditional markets have not shown any significant increase. Transportation and input costs have decreased slightly but remain high, affecting the profits of farmers. Therefore, the forecast for live hog prices on March 26, 2025 may continue to decrease slightly, reflecting market adjustments in the context of abundant supply and not yet strong demand growth.
